📅 September 9, 2003 - thawte Technologies (thawte.com) today announced the launch of t-refer, a distribution channel that compensates participating members for referring digital certificate customers to thawte.

The program includes a pay-as-you-go commission based channel which does not require upfront payments for certificates, 3-step enrolment and 1-step enrolment processes, a tracking and account management console, 24/7 access to live reporting tools and higher commissions for new sales. Other benefits, according to the company, include a free marketing resources guide, a dedicated account management team to assist program members, support in 53 languages, free online technical support and no sign-up free.
"We are very proud to be offering t-refer as a new sales and distribution channel for the thawte brand. It is the first thawte channel that will provide features and functions that many of our customers have requested," said Bo Wilson, managing director of thawte. "Many of these features will be migrated to existing channels over time. It has been very exciting to experience the initial customer response for t-refer that has been so overwhelmingly positive."
The company said the referral program is the first in the digital certificate industry.
