Jul 6, 2004 : GeoTrust Surpasses thawte, VeriSign

📅 July 6, 2004 - According to research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com), GeoTrust (geotrust.com), a provider of identity and security solutions, has surpassed thawte (thawte.com) and VeriSign (verisign.com), with its SLL certificates having demonstrated the strongest growth among US certificate authorities since May.

VeriSign sells RSA Data Security and VeriSign Trust Network certificates. The thawte brand of certificates are sold through a VeriSign affiliate.
