Contabo is a German cloud hosting and infrastructure provider founded in 2003 by Michael Herpich and Michael Bölke. The business started in Munich under the Go-International name, later became Giga-International, and adopted the Contabo brand in 2013.
The company’s international expansion accelerated after Oakley Capital invested in 2019. In June 2022, KKR became the majority investor in a transaction valued at approximately $1.2 billion, while Oakley retained a minority interest.
VPS2day is now a historical / inactive VPS hosting brand. The original vps2day.com service no longer works as an independent provider and now redirects into the servinga Cloud VPS platform. The brand effectively ended as a standalone hosting identity in December 2024, when VPS2day was consolidated under the servinga umbrella brand.
