😁 I've read the reviews and I understand they are too old. I can disprove most of them. Their customer care in English is very good, together with customer panel and Plesk which are very easy to use. There's no problem with cancelling in the panel, it's just necessary to do it a month before your service ends. Services are so far better than Czech ones, and also cheaper, so I'm surprised nicely.

😁 Great service
Great service. The transparent pricing and billing help a lot as I'm not running a huge business. The performance difference between NetCup and DedicatedCore as compared to other VPS providers is significant. Would recommend it to everyone.

Ciao netcup.

🔃 This company is a reseller of Anexia
netcup is a German hosting and infrastructure provider whose history began in 2002, when Felix Preuss started the business as a one-person operation. The company became netcup GmbH in 2008 and has belonged to the Anexia group since 2016. Alexander Windbichler and Oliver Werner manage the company today. From its early hosting roots, netcup has grown to around 400 employees, more than 200,000 customers, over 500,000 hosting products, and approximately 400,000 managed domains.
Headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, netcup has developed into a broad hosting and cloud infrastructure provider rather than remaining focused on conventional shared hosting. Its portfolio includes Webhosting, Reseller Webhosting, VPS Lite, x86 VPS, ARM64 VPS, Root Servers, vGPU servers, Local Block Storage, Managed Private Servers, Managed Cloud Cluster, domain registration and transfers, domain reseller services, SOGo Groupware, DNS, SSL certificates, email hosting and Plesk licenses.
The company participates in organizations including RIPE and DENIC and operates under a mature compliance framework. Certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and ISO 14001, covering quality management, information security, privacy management and environmental management. Renewable electricity is used wherever technically possible, an important consideration for European customers looking for infrastructure with stronger environmental and regulatory credentials.
The regular Webhosting range is cloud-based and covers everything from relatively small websites to larger application projects. Webhosting 1000 includes 50 GB SSD storage, SSH access, email hosting, databases, SSL certificates and an included domain. Webhosting 2000 raises storage to 150 GB and introduces additional WordPress tooling, while Webhosting 4000 and Webhosting 8000 increase storage to 500 GB and 1,000 GB respectively. The larger packages are more suitable for development workloads because they support technologies such as Python, Ruby and Node.js in addition to PHP.
Email functionality is integrated directly into the hosting platform. Customers can create mailboxes, aliases, forwarding rules and catch-all addresses and can access their accounts through webmail or conventional email applications. SPF and DKIM are supported, helping reduce spoofing and improve email deliverability. Let's Encrypt certificates are included for hosted domains and subdomains, while separate commercial SSL certificates are also available.
SSH and SFTP access make the hosting accounts noticeably more useful for developers than simplistic website-builder hosting. External domains can be connected without transferring the registration to netcup, and applications such as WordPress can be deployed using the included hosting tools.
Reseller Webhosting is intended for agencies, designers and hosting companies that want to create separate hosting accounts for their own customers. The service uses a white-label Plesk environment and scales from smaller configurations with five customer accounts and 50 GB SSD storage to packages supporting 100 accounts and up to 1 TB SSD. SSL certificates are included, and the larger reseller plans support Python, Ruby and Node.js. Domain reselling can be added through netcup's separate domain reseller program.
The virtual-server portfolio is one of the company's strongest areas. VPS Lite provides low-cost KVM virtual machines for basic web services, testing, VPNs, small applications and lightweight server workloads. Entry configurations begin with very modest resources such as 1 vCore, 1 GB RAM and 30 GB SSD, while larger G12s Lite servers scale to 16 vCores, 32 GB RAM and 640 GB SSD. They include snapshots, remote-console access and traffic allowances, while compatible G12s Lite systems can also use additional Local Block Storage.
The standard x86 VPS G12 range uses NVMe storage and considerably larger resource allocations. VPS 500 G12 begins with 2 vCores, 4 GB DDR5 ECC RAM and 128 GB NVMe storage, while the upper VPS 8000 G12 reaches 16 vCores, 64 GB RAM and 2 TB NVMe. Hourly billing is available for selected VPS plans, which is useful for development, temporary workloads, testing environments and services that do not need to remain online for an entire billing period.
VPS CPU resources are shared with other virtual machines on the host system. Customers requiring more predictable CPU performance can instead choose the Root Server G12 range, where CPU resources are dedicated.
ARM64 VPS provides another alternative based on Ampere Altra Max processors. These servers work particularly well for Linux applications, containers, web servers and other software already compiled for ARM64. They can be an efficient option for users who do not depend on x86-only software. Windows and applications requiring conventional x86 processors are not suitable for this range.
The Root Server G12 product line is particularly attractive for performance-sensitive workloads. These are KVM virtual servers rather than physical bare-metal machines, but CPU cores are dedicated instead of shared. The latest generation uses AMD EPYC 9645 processors, DDR5 ECC memory and NVMe storage. A typical RS 1000 G12 configuration includes 4 dedicated cores, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB NVMe, while larger configurations reach 16 dedicated cores, 64 GB RAM and 2 TB NVMe.
Root Servers include snapshots, a remote console, IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity, DDoS protection and network interfaces reaching up to 2.5 Gbps depending on the package. They also receive a 99.9% minimum availability guarantee and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, giving this product line stronger service commitments than standard VPS.
The vGPU platform brings GPU computing into the portfolio using NVIDIA H200 hardware combined with AMD EPYC 9535 processors. These systems are aimed at artificial intelligence, machine learning, inference, HPC and other workloads requiring dedicated GPU compute and memory resources. H200 vGPU capacity is currently highly constrained, and configurations were sold out during the latest availability check.
Local Block Storage allows compatible virtual servers to expand beyond their included system disk without upgrading the entire VPS or Root Server. Capacity can be allocated in small increments and scaled into multiple terabytes depending on the server type. It is particularly useful for databases, archives, application data and projects that need additional disk capacity but not additional CPU or RAM.
For customers who do not want to administer an operating system themselves, Managed Private Servers provide managed virtual infrastructure based on AMD EPYC 9645 processors, DDR5 ECC memory and NVMe storage. netcup handles operating-system administration and important server services, while customers work in a more restricted environment without unrestricted root or sudo access. Packages scale from 16 GB RAM and 512 GB NVMe to considerably larger configurations with 64 GB RAM and 2 TB NVMe.
At the business end of the portfolio, Managed Cloud Cluster provides much larger physical infrastructure for companies requiring private managed environments. G12 configurations use AMD EPYC 9645 processors, substantial amounts of RAM, enterprise SSD/NVMe storage, RAID and dual high-speed network connectivity. Resources can be distributed among multiple virtual systems while the underlying infrastructure remains professionally managed.
Domain registration is another significant part of netcup's business. More than 450 TLDs are supported, and the company maintains direct relationships or accreditations with important registries including DENIC, nic.at, EURid and SWITCH. Domain registration, transfers, DNS administration and DNSSEC can all be handled through the customer account.
The separate Domain Reseller Program is designed for customers managing larger domain portfolios or selling domains to their own clients. Several reseller levels are available, making the service useful for web agencies and hosting businesses alongside the Reseller Webhosting range.
SOGo Groupware expands the email offering with calendars, address books, shared mailboxes and other collaboration functions. It can be used through a browser as well as with Outlook, Thunderbird, Android and iOS clients. Data is stored redundantly, making it suitable for both individual and business collaboration requirements.
The website and customer environment support German and English. Customers can select their billing country so that VAT is calculated according to the relevant location. Products remain priced in EUR, including for customers outside Germany.
Overall, netcup covers an unusually broad range of hosting requirements. Small websites can remain on inexpensive Webhosting, developers can use VPS or ARM servers, demanding projects can move to dedicated-resource Root Servers, and organizations wanting administrative assistance can move into Managed Private Servers or Managed Cloud Cluster infrastructure without leaving the same provider.
💰 Price & Cost
Pricing remains one of netcup's principal advantages. The company competes particularly strongly in VPS and Root Server services, where hardware resources are often generous relative to the monthly fee. Prices are denominated in EUR, while VAT depends on the customer's selected billing country.
At the German VAT rate, Webhosting starts at approximately €2.69 per month for a package with 50 GB SSD storage. VPS Lite begins at roughly €1.84 per month, while regular x86 VPS starts at approximately €5.91 per month. Selected VPS packages also support hourly billing, with entry configurations costing around €0.010 per hour.
ARM64 VPS begins at around €7.77 per month, while Root Server G12 configurations start at approximately €12.79 per month. Managed Private Servers begin around €70 per month, while Managed Cloud Cluster moves into a substantially higher business-oriented price category.
Domain pricing is also competitive. A .de domain can cost roughly €0.42 per month at the German VAT setting, while .com is around €1.38 per month. Prices vary substantially between extensions, so less common or premium TLDs can cost considerably more.
Regular Webhosting includes a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Customers cancelling an eligible hosting package within this period can recover the basic hosting fee, although attached domain registrations remain subject to registry and domain-transfer rules.
Reseller Webhosting also receives a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. Its commercial protections additionally include a best-price arrangement for qualifying comparable hosting offers.
G12 Root Servers include a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, which is particularly useful because these plans involve more substantial server resources. Standard VPS and vGPU products do not receive the same general satisfaction guarantee, so the cancellation conditions differ between server categories.
Standard hosting availability is 99.6% annually. Customers requiring stronger contractual protection can purchase Web Hosting SLA+, which raises eligible hosting availability to 99.9% and adds enhanced incident handling and emergency support provisions.
Payment methods include bank transfer, PayPal, credit card and SEPA direct debit. Credit cards and SEPA can be configured for automated invoice payment, while PayPal and bank transfer can also be used manually. Invoices, payment methods and billing information are administered through the Customer Control Panel.
The low monthly prices are attractive, but customers should still check the billing interval and minimum contractual period attached to a specific product. Hourly VPS, monthly servers, annual hosting and domain subscriptions can all follow different billing structures.
🏢 Data Center
netcup has expanded substantially beyond its original German infrastructure and currently provides server capacity in Nuremberg, Germany; Vienna, Austria; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Manassas, Virginia, United States; and Singapore. Not every product is available in every facility, but these locations give customers a useful choice between Central Europe, North America and Asia.
Nuremberg remains one of the most important locations for German hosting and server workloads. Vienna and Amsterdam are integrated into the Anexia Backbone Europe, while Manassas provides a U.S. East Coast presence and Singapore serves customers requiring infrastructure closer to Asian markets.
Power infrastructure uses redundant UPS systems, emergency generators and redundant electrical paths. Network connectivity is also designed around multiple carriers and peering relationships rather than relying on a single upstream connection.
The network provides approximately 2 Tbps of edge capacity, while the integrated DDoS mitigation platform also handles approximately 2 Tbps. DDoS protection is automatically available to server customers and handles attacks through Layer 4 without requiring customers to manually redirect traffic to a separate mitigation provider.
Important carrier relationships include Telia and NTT. Public peering includes high-capacity connectivity through DE-CIX Frankfurt and AMS-IX, alongside additional Internet exchanges.
Private interconnections with major Internet platforms further strengthen routing performance. These include Google Cloud, Amazon / AWS and Hetzner, among other networks.
Standard Internet-based services carry a 99.6% average annual availability guarantee unless a stronger guarantee applies to the individual product. Regular Webhosting and VPS use this baseline.
Root Servers and vGPU servers receive a 99.9% minimum availability guarantee. Eligible web hosting customers can also increase the contractual availability level to 99.9% through Web Hosting SLA+.
Reseller Webhosting has stronger availability protections than ordinary entry hosting, although the exact contractual level should be checked against the specific reseller package and applicable quality-assurance conditions.
Weekly backups to a second server in another data center are included in the quality-assurance framework for applicable Business and Reseller Webhosting products. RAID provides additional protection against individual disk failures, while important projects should still maintain independent backups outside the hosting account.
For European companies, the Germany, Austria and Netherlands locations are particularly attractive because they combine EU data residency with GDPR-oriented operations and ISO-certified information-security practices. The U.S. and Singapore facilities provide useful alternatives for applications that need lower latency outside Europe.
✍️ Customer Support
netcup combines ticket and email assistance, telephone support, emergency assistance, a 24/7 chatbot, extensive technical documentation and a user community.
Regular ticket and email support operates Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 22:00 Europe/Berlin time. Standard telephone support operates Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 Europe/Berlin time, with support available in German and English.
The normal telephone channel is temporarily unavailable because of unusually high support volume, making ticket support the more dependable channel at present. Response times can therefore be longer than normal during periods of increased demand.
An emergency number is available outside standard telephone hours for genuine service outages that are not already listed as known incidents. This provides an escalation path for serious infrastructure failures rather than routine configuration or account questions.
The 24/7 chatbot handles common questions at any hour. It is useful for immediate guidance and documentation lookup, although it does not replace direct access to a human technician.
The standard Webhosting quality framework sets a maximum support-response target of 24 hours, with ordinary questions typically handled faster. Customers using Web Hosting SLA+ receive enhanced support conditions including 24/7 email assistance, emergency access, monitoring and priority treatment during relevant incidents.
The Help Center is extensive and covers account management, billing, domains, DNS, CloudDNS, Webhosting, email, Plesk, VPS, Root Servers, Server Control Panel functions, operating systems, SOGo, security and troubleshooting.
This support model works particularly well for developers and technically experienced users who are comfortable handling routine server administration themselves. Customers requiring constant hands-on system administration are better suited to Managed Private Server or Managed Cloud Cluster products.
🔨 Control Panel
netcup uses several management interfaces, each intended for a different part of the service.
The Customer Control Panel (CCP) is the main account-management system. Customers use it for contracts, billing, invoices, payment methods, domains, DNS, product administration, SOGo services and access to other hosting or server interfaces.
Domain management is integrated directly into the CCP. Customers can administer conventional DNS records, DNSSEC and CloudDNS without purchasing an additional DNS-management platform.
Shared Webhosting and Reseller Webhosting use Plesk for website administration. The hosting environment provides controls for websites, databases, FTP accounts, SSH/SFTP, email mailboxes, aliases, SSL certificates and supported applications.
Web and mail administration can be separated, which is useful for companies where website administrators and email administrators are different people.
Server customers use the Server Control Panel (SCP). It provides virtual-machine management functions such as shutdown and restart controls, operating-system installation, server images, snapshots and remote-console access.
Customers who want Plesk on their own VPS or Root Server can purchase separate licenses. Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host editions are available, with the higher editions adding management for larger numbers of domains and customers.
Microsoft Windows Server licenses are not bundled with the virtual-server range. Customers using compatible x86 VPS or Root Servers can install Windows themselves when they possess the appropriate licensing. ARM64 VPS remains primarily aimed at Linux and other ARM-compatible operating systems.
Managed Cloud Cluster uses a more specialized administrative environment designed for private managed infrastructure rather than conventional single-server hosting.
The overall arrangement is logical once the separation is understood: CCP manages the customer account and domains, Plesk handles hosted websites and email, and SCP controls VPS and Root Servers.
🎯 Conclusion
netcup has developed into one of the more attractive European hosting companies for customers looking for strong price-to-performance ratios without giving up technical flexibility. Its biggest strengths are competitively priced VPS and Root Servers, modern NVMe storage, dedicated CPU options, large server configurations, integrated DDoS protection and multiple international infrastructure locations. The product range scales particularly well. A small website can begin on inexpensive Webhosting, move to a regular VPS as resource requirements increase, then migrate to a Root Server with dedicated CPU resources. Additional Local Block Storage can extend disk capacity without requiring a larger compute package, while ARM64 provides another cost-efficient option for compatible workloads.
Agencies receive a useful combination of Reseller Webhosting and domain reseller services, while Managed Private Servers provide an intermediate option for customers who need more assistance than unmanaged VPS can provide. Larger companies can move further into Managed Cloud Cluster infrastructure.
The network has become much more international, with Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, the United States and Singapore now available as server locations. Approximately 2 Tbps network and DDoS capacity, strong peering relationships and the wider Anexia backbone add substantial infrastructure depth for a provider that remains strongly price competitive.
There are still some limitations. Standard Webhosting and ordinary VPS have a 99.6% base availability commitment rather than the stronger 99.9% level increasingly common with premium infrastructure products. Customers requiring a stronger guarantee should consider Root Servers, eligible reseller packages or the SLA upgrade.
The temporary suspension of regular telephone support is another disadvantage for customers who prefer immediate voice assistance. The overall support model remains more attractive to technically self-sufficient users than to beginners expecting extensive managed assistance.
Traditional unmanaged physical dedicated servers are also not the central focus of the current product range. Instead, netcup concentrates on KVM Root Servers with dedicated CPU re

Finger weg.

Warning!
They have been doing multiple tricks in trading and in service quality.
1) When I was about to order a vps from this team, the price given in that page was just for one month. Also it was saying that you would gain 23% when you sign up for 12months. Despite that discount, I ordered monthly.
2) Even though the vps I ordered had 16GB ram, I realized that the shown memory is not real. When you test the hardware to force up the system, you can't get even half the memory. Also traffic bandwidth was a real disappointment. They do not grant the 20% traffic they premised. I am sorry to use this word but they have been cheating their clients.
3) Anyways, When my service was about to due, I asked them to cancel but they did not. After a couple of weeks they submitted a new invoice for new subscription term which I had not asked for.
4) I rejected the payment. They said, they will forward the invoice in to a German finance company to force me for a non-received [read more...]

😠 I evaluated their services for a few days before deciding to use OVH, as the network performance at Netcup was horrendously slow.
Since then, despite me requesting multiple times to cancel my account, they keep invoicing me and never acknowledge my cancellation request.
Frankly, it's crazy. I've never, EVER experienced something like this before.
I've reported them to the European Consumer Centre, as I can't imagine what they're doing is legal.

Also: Finger weg von netcup!

😠 TLDR; Pick someone else as your hosting provider and heed all the other negative reviews about this organisation. Learn from my own mistake and thoroughly do your homework. If what they offer sounds too good to be true, you can bet that it is. Avoid doing business with netcup under any circumstances, no exceptions.
netcup came to me recommended as a company with excellent hosting and service. They have massively fallen short of that promise and have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. If you plan to chose them for your hosting needs, be prepared to spend an inordinate amount of time fighting about spurious charges, quibbling over semantics and waiting for delayed responses from their support team. That said, expect correspondence from them when you owe them money: your head will absolutely spin with the speed with which their email hits your inbox!
Hosting-wise the performance of their servers is reasonable but not the best that I've seen. For the most part, I've found it [read more...]

😁 Price are low and the support is very good. Answer usually in a few hours.
And the speed are very good.

😠 Terrible company, do not use. Once you decide to part they do not allow to terminate contract and ask for more money. Keep away by all means.

😠 Worst company,
First the verification is not really "verification", anybody who knows your name and phone number can open an account under your name and issue contract in your place.
Second, customer service is so bad.
Be careful, they will try to suck money from you.

😠 First i used this service as comparation with Contabo. The same machine with the SAME specifications run MUCH slower.
Second, if you don't are carefull will be charged by the fee for an indefinite period of time even if you don't wanna proceed anymore to use this service, so you stop paying.
You will need to "giving one month's notice to the end of a month" (quote of the tos) , the result? if you want to try the service for one month you will need to pay two month minimum. Stay away.

😠 I think choosing them is like accepting an immigration review. They care more about your address change than the prosecutor, even if you have never moved.

😠 Unfortunately we have to issue a warning about Netcup.de.
Technically, the services are certainly very good... the behavior of the management, especially Mr. Preuß as owner but very questionable.Fact is that you can not deal with criticism in the company management there. Criticism is in their eyes a punishable insult and if one comment this then rightfully still, the achievements are terminated to one. It is not only arrogant and arrogant, but also racist in its own way.
On request, we can also document all this, links are unfortunately not allowed here in the ratings!
😠 One of the worst hosting companies I ever had in my life, many promised functions are not working properly, and not really supported, and when you ask the support team for help you just get cold reply, without any readiness for help.

😁 My Servers running 24/7 since over 2 years now. Support is very fast and good. The price also very low and my customers are happy with netcup. But i think it's only for Europe Customers.

😠 This hosting company is not equipped to provide international support. Unless you speak German, avoid at all price.
