😠 just dont go with TMZVPS
Appalling service.
We are paying over $200 per month for a dedicated server. The server started having issues 4 days ago, and each day the support response time is worse. It is now at the point where we only get an update once or twice a day.
It is not possible to talk to a real person. They hide behind 1st level support chat, and only email correspondence after that.
Their support ticket system is broken. Their web ticket submission process is broken.
They will not answer questions in a timely manner. I do not recommend them at all. Other companies provide far better services and support for only a few dollars more.

😠 We have had our VPS hosted with tmzVPS for over 4 years. For most of that time it has been fine. The last 3 months, however, have been frustrating to say the least.
We primarily use our VPS as an email exchange, and for an infrequently used FTP server.
In September, our office IP appeared to be blacklisted by the VPS and everyone had to hotspot until this was resolved. In October our VPS was totally offline for a full business day. In November TMZ had scheduled maintenance at midnight Saturday night local time, but due to 'unexpected issues' it is now nearly midday on Monday and we still have no connection.
We have also encountered other issues relating to our cPanel. Countless emails were sent back and forth before support came to a realisation that our cPanel was running an old version, information I had provided in literally the first email. Once I got out the credit card to buy additional services provided by TMZ, our issues were finally resolved.

😠 Bad customer service
I asked SMTP address which is a very general info in the live chat, they required me to provide a card number. I said I have no card with me. The agent simply said without a card number for customer identity, he will not support anything. What a crazy service indeed. They said it is only way to support a client only they receive a card number.

I was a client of TMZVPS hosting for more than five years, primarily using their service for hosting a number of film and video game related websites.
As a service, TMZVPS is a house of cards; so long as the cards are all aligned just right, the service will have the appearance of being stable. However if any card just slightly gets out of alignment, the entire server falls apart in flames and destruction and continued days of downtime.
This was frequent. TMZVPS was, on a whole, a let down. Their fire fighting skills are terrible; they left me in a lurch numerous times, including one time where a website was in a critical launch period and TMZVPS made a series of bumbling mistakes that kept the site down. Their reaction times were abysmal; their attitude complacent and apathetic. This is a company that just does not give a damn about its clients; they are in it for the money and the money is all they want from you.

I've worked in the web design and technology industry for some time now and while I do not claim to be a server administrator (I'm too busy developing websites for that) my server admin days are a distant memory, I do know a good host from a bad one. In addition, we have to bear in mind that a VPS can cost (typically) 10-15 times more than a shared hosting service so one could be forgiven for assuming that you'd receive a certain level of attention as a client.
Think again.
One quiet Sunday afternoon my daughter asked me if I could go to the pool with her and I wanted to, I really did but here's why I had to say no.
