📄 Editorial Review
(3*) 🔧 Services: CloudCoreWeave is a U.S.-based cloud infrastructure company founded in 2017 by Michael Intrator, Brian Venturo, and Brannin McBee. The business initially concentrated on GPU-intensive cryptocurrency workloads before redirecting its computing capacity and engineering expertise toward artificial intelligence and high-performance computing. This transition turned CoreWeave into one of the most prominent specialized AI cloud providers. The company became publicly traded on Nasdaq under the ticker CRWV in March 2025 and has grown to approximately 2,500 employees.
CoreWeave is substantially different from a conventional web hosting provider. It does not concentrate on shared hosting, domain registrations, email hosting, website builders, cPanel accounts, or inexpensive virtual servers. Its platform is designed for AI laboratories, software companies, enterprise engineering departments, research organizations, and customers requiring large amounts of accelerated computing capacity.
The central service is GPU Compute, with infrastructure based on NVIDIA (nvidia.com) Vera Rubin, Blackwell, Hopper, Ada Lovelace, and earlier accelerator generations. Available systems include GB300 NVL72, GB200 NVL72, B300, B200, RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition, H200, H100, GH200, L40S, L40, and A100 hardware.
Many GPU configurations run on complete bare-metal servers rather than virtualized instances. Customers receive direct access to the GPUs, processors, local storage, and high-performance networking without an additional hypervisor layer. This architecture is particularly suitable for distributed model training, large-scale inference, reinforcement learning, scientific computing, rendering, and other workloads where hardware consistency and predictable performance are important.
CPU Compute complements the GPU infrastructure with AMD Genoa, AMD Turin, Intel Emerald Rapids, Intel Ice Lake, and NVIDIA Grace processors. These systems can handle preprocessing, data preparation, orchestration, application services, model serving, and the supporting workloads that accompany large GPU clusters.
CoreWeave Kubernetes Service, commonly known as CKS, provides managed Kubernetes directly on bare-metal infrastructure. Each cluster runs inside a private VPC, with network separation enforced through NVIDIA BlueField data processing units. CoreWeave manages the Kubernetes control plane, drivers, storage integration, networking, and physical infrastructure, while customers retain control over their containers, services, namespaces, and applications.
CKS works with Kubernetes-native automation, REST APIs, Terraform, and
kubectl. It is designed for engineering teams that want the flexibility of Kubernetes without having to build and maintain the underlying accelerated infrastructure themselves.SUNK combines Slurm scheduling with Kubernetes operations. Researchers can continue using familiar Slurm workflows, while infrastructure teams receive Kubernetes-based lifecycle management, observability, identity provisioning, topology-aware scheduling, and automated hardware-health controls. SUNK Self-Service simplifies cluster deployment, while SUNK Anywhere can extend the same management approach to infrastructure located outside the CoreWeave cloud.
Inference services are available through several deployment models. Serverless Inference provides API-based access to managed models with token-based billing. Dedicated Inference runs custom or open-source models on selected GPU configurations, with CoreWeave managing routing, scaling, cluster operations, and infrastructure maintenance. Inference on CKS provides more direct control over Kubernetes, runtimes, scheduling, topology, and autoscaling.
CoreWeave Sandboxes provide isolated environments for reinforcement learning, software agents, code execution, model evaluation, and automated tool use. Sandboxes can operate on existing CKS capacity or through a fully managed serverless environment. They include namespace isolation, network policies, configurable resource limits, Python tooling, and Grafana-based monitoring.
Storage services include AI Object Storage, Distributed File Storage, local NVMe or SSD storage, and dedicated single-tenant storage clusters. Object storage includes hot, warm, cold, and archive tiers for datasets with different access patterns. Distributed File Storage provides a scalable POSIX-compatible environment suited to training datasets, shared files, checkpoints, and high-throughput AI workloads.
Local ephemeral storage can reach approximately 60 TB on selected systems and is included with the corresponding compute configuration. This provides fast scratch space for temporary datasets, caches, model checkpoints, and intermediate processing.
Dedicated storage environments can use technology from VAST Data (vastdata.com), WEKA (weka.io), DDN (ddn.com), IBM (ibm.com) Spectrum Scale, or Pure Storage (purestorage.com). Dedicated VAST Storage operates in a single-tenant environment with support for NFS, S3, NVMe over Fabrics, snapshots, replication, audit controls, SAML and SSO integration, encryption, and multi-petabyte datasets.
Networking services include private VPCs, public IPv4 addresses, bring-your-own-IP support, ingress DNS, high-performance InfiniBand, GPUDirect RDMA, and Direct Connect circuits reaching 400 Gbps. Internet ingress, internet egress, internal VPC transfer, inter-region transfer, NAT gateway traffic, and VPC usage do not carry separate data-transfer charges.
Mission Control combines infrastructure telemetry, automated node management, hardware lifecycle controls, operational visibility, and direct engineering assistance. CoreWeave Observe provides cluster metrics and Grafana dashboards, while Telemetry Relay can forward audit and access information into customer SIEM platforms, Prometheus Remote Write endpoints, HTTPS services, or S3-compatible storage.
GPU Straggler Detection identifies underperforming GPUs and ranks inside distributed training jobs. The Mission Control Agent can deliver infrastructure information and operational assistance through Slack, allowing engineers to diagnose problems without continuously switching between several management systems.
CoreWeave Omni brings the CoreWeave operating model into customer-owned facilities. The customer retains control of the data center and hardware, while CoreWeave installs and manages a dedicated cloud region containing Kubernetes orchestration, storage, networking, observability, lifecycle management, and the wider CoreWeave software stack.
The company has expanded beyond infrastructure through several AI software acquisitions. CoreWeave completed its acquisition of Weights & Biases (wandb.ai) on May 5, 2025, in a transaction valued at approximately $1.7 billion, although the official financial terms remained undisclosed.
OpenPipe (openpipe.ai), a reinforcement-learning platform, joined CoreWeave in September 2025. Marimo (marimo.io), developer of an AI-oriented Python notebook, was acquired in October 2025. CoreWeave also entered into an agreement to acquire Monolith AI (monolithai.com) on October 6, 2025, extending its reach into automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and engineering applications.
The company operates a modern and responsive English-language website. The documentation, customer console, legal information, product details, and support resources are primarily available in English. Public prices are expressed in U.S. dollars.
💰 Price & Cost
CoreWeave offers on-demand, spot, reserved, and flexible-capacity billing models. On-demand capacity suits workloads that need immediate infrastructure without a long-term commitment. Spot capacity is less expensive but can be interrupted, with a seven-minute termination warning. Reservations secure baseline capacity, while Flex Reservations combine a capacity reservation charge with usage-based billing.
Representative North American on-demand pricing includes an eight-GPU NVIDIA L40 server at approximately $10.00 per hour, an eight-GPU L40S configuration at approximately $18.00 per hour, and an eight-GPU A100 system at approximately $21.60 per hour. The A100 spot price is approximately $9.65 per hour.
An eight-GPU H200 configuration costs approximately $50.44 per hour, while a four-GPU GB200 NVL72 configuration starts near $42.00 per hour. Pricing for some GB300, B300, and large dedicated cluster configurations is available through a customized sales quotation.
CPU systems begin in the low single-digit hourly range, depending on processor type, memory, local storage, and region. A 96-vCPU AMD Genoa configuration with 768 GB RAM and 7.68 TB of local storage costs approximately $6.42 per hour. High-memory systems and servers containing more than 60 TB of local storage have higher hourly rates.
Longer compute commitments can reduce costs by as much as 60% compared with regular on-demand pricing. The CKS control plane does not have a separate charge. SUNK also has no dedicated platform fee, although the CPU and other infrastructure resources needed to operate it remain billable.
AI Object Storage costs approximately $0.06 per GB per month for the hot tier, $0.03 for warm storage, $0.015 for cold storage, and $0.0125 for the limited-availability archive tier. Data ingress, egress, internal transfer, and inter-region transfer are included without separate transfer fees.
A public IPv4 address costs approximately $4 per month. Bringing an existing IP address carries a one-time setup charge of approximately $4 per address.
Dedicated Direct Connect service starts at approximately $1,250 per month for a 10 Gbps circuit. A 10 Gbps virtual connection costs approximately $1,500 per month before any third-party port or virtual-circuit charges. Dedicated 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps circuits cost approximately $12,500 and $50,000 per month.
Billing normally takes place monthly in arrears. Invoices below $20,000 are charged automatically to a credit card. Invoices of at least $20,000 can be paid by ACH or wire transfer under Net 15 payment terms.
There is no general money-back guarantee. Availability problems are compensated through service credits applied to future invoices rather than cash refunds. Credit claims must include the required logs, affected resources, service information, and incident period.
🏢 Data Center
CoreWeave’s infrastructure spans 49 data center facilities across North America and Europe, with more than 1 GW of active power and over 3.5 GW of contracted power capacity.
North American locations include Ontario and facilities across New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Michigan, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, North Dakota, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, and California.
European capacity includes London and Crawley in the United Kingdom, Barcelona and Álava in Spain, Stockholm and Falun in Sweden, Kristiansand in Norway, and Skovlunde in Denmark. The Crawley deployment includes infrastructure from Digital Realty, while the London Docklands location uses Global Switch facilities.
Availability zones are divided into General Access and Dedicated Access. General Access zones support multiple customers with separation through VPCs and DPU-based networking. Dedicated Access zones reserve infrastructure for selected customers without another tenant sharing the same network fabric.
Each region includes redundant public internet capacity of at least 200 Gbps, a private dark-fiber backbone with at least 400 Gbps of capacity, distributed storage, and VPC networking. High-performance clusters use NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand and GPUDirect RDMA, reaching as much as 3.2 Tbps of bidirectional bandwidth per node with sub-microsecond latency.
Direct Connect can be delivered through dedicated cross-connects or virtual connectivity supplied through Equinix Fabric and Megaport (megaport.com). CoreWeave operates its network under AS33425.
Its public peering footprint includes AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX, and several additional internet exchange points throughout North America and Europe.
Large GPU clusters use direct-to-chip closed-loop liquid cooling, high-density rack designs, and NVIDIA BlueField DPUs for networking, storage, and security offload. The architecture can support clusters containing more than 100,000 GPUs.
The compute SLA provides a 99.9% monthly uptime objective when instances are distributed across multiple regions. Instances running inside a single region receive a 99% monthly uptime objective. Eligible credits range between 10% and 50% of the affected monthly service charge, depending on the measured availability.
CoreWeave AI Object Storage has a separate 99.9% monthly uptime objective for the
cwobject.com endpoint. Credits range from 10% to 100% of the affected service charge. Mission-critical applications benefit from a multi-region design because the single-region service objective is significantly lower.✍️ Customer Support
CoreWeave support is organized around technical documentation, implementation guides, platform status monitoring, contact forms, and direct engineering assistance. Managed engagements can include 24/7 Slack support with access to solution architects and infrastructure engineers.
The support model is suited to complex AI and high-performance computing environments rather than ordinary shared-hosting questions. Engineering assistance can cover cluster design, Kubernetes and Slurm integration, workload placement, performance optimization, networking, storage architecture, hardware incidents, and distributed-training problems.
Mission Control brings infrastructure alerts, telemetry, and operational assistance into Slack. This provides a more direct relationship between customer engineering teams and CoreWeave specialists than the basic ticket-only support commonly associated with traditional hosting companies.
Technical support is available through support@coreweave. Privacy-related communication can be sent to privacy@coreweave. Access to dedicated Slack channels, solution architects, and intensive onboarding depends on the customer’s account and contractual arrangement.
🔨 Control Panel
CoreWeave uses its own Cloud Console rather than cPanel, Plesk, or another traditional web hosting control panel. The console manages organizations, users, IAM policies, API tokens, Kubernetes clusters, VPCs, object storage, platform integrations, billing permissions, and infrastructure status.
Customers can create API tokens, download
kubeconfig files, and manage CKS clusters through kubectl. REST APIs and the CoreWeave Terraform provider support automated infrastructure deployment and infrastructure-as-code workflows. The CoreWeave Intelligent CLI, known as
cwic, supports selected platform and sandbox operations. Mission Control and CoreWeave Observe add Grafana dashboards, cluster metrics, GPU health information, storage and network statistics, audit events, lifecycle controls, alerts, and SIEM integrations.Dedicated VAST Storage customers also receive access to the VAST Management System. The complete management environment is intended for cloud engineers, Kubernetes administrators, AI researchers, and platform teams. It provides considerably more technical control than a traditional hosting panel, but it requires experience with cloud infrastructure and container orchestration.
🎯 Conclusion
CoreWeave is one of the strongest specialized infrastructure choices for large AI, machine-learning, and high-performance computing workloads. Its principal advantages include direct bare-metal GPU access, modern NVIDIA hardware, high-speed InfiniBand networking, large reserved clusters, managed Kubernetes, Slurm integration, extensive storage choices, free data transfer, detailed infrastructure telemetry, and direct access to experienced engineering teams. The acquisitions of Weights & Biases, OpenPipe, Marimo, and Monolith AI have expanded the company beyond raw GPU capacity. CoreWeave now covers a broader portion of the AI lifecycle, including experimentation, model development, reinforcement learning, training, inference, observability, and agent execution.
CoreWeave Omni extends the same platform and operational model into customer-controlled facilities, making the technology suitable for organizations that require dedicated infrastructure, data sovereignty, or closer control over hardware placement.
The platform is best suited to well-funded AI companies, research organizations, enterprise platform teams, industrial engineering groups, and customers capable of using substantial GPU capacity efficiently. It is not intended as a replacement for shared hosting, managed WordPress, domain registration, inexpensive VPS hosting, or conventional business email services.
Pricing is reasonably transparent across many GPU, CPU, storage, IP, and networking services. New accelerator generations, very large clusters, and dedicated infrastructure require individual quotations. Free ingress and egress make costs more predictable than cloud platforms that apply significant data-transfer charges.
The main contractual limitation is the 99% single-region uptime objective. Critical workloads should be distributed across multiple regions and supported by appropriate backup, replication, and recovery procedures. Customers should also understand the service-credit process and the exclusions covering planned maintenance, customer configuration problems, and workload-level failures.
For large-scale model training, inference, reinforcement learning, agent workloads, and scientific computing, CoreWeave combines powerful hardware with mature orchestration and a rapidly expanding software ecosystem. Conventional hosting customers will find the platform unnecessarily complex, but advanced AI teams can gain substantial performance, flexibility, and operational support.

Meta Weighs Selling AI Compute as Cloud Ambitions Grow - Meta is weighing a move into cloud infrastructure by selling excess AI compute or model access to outside customers, according to Bloomberg, a shift that would put Mark Zuckerberg's company closer to Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and CoreWeave. The question is whether Meta wants cloud margins, cloud complexity, or simply a way to monetize idle AI capacity.

The company is reportedly considering two routes. One is basic compute rental - closer to the CoreWeave model, where customers pay for access to high-demand processing capacity. The other is more like the cloud hyperscaler model, where customers access AI models running on provider infrastructure. Bloomberg reported that Meta is also weighing access to [...]
