Prices scale with both contract term and port count: longer commitments (up to 36 months) and larger port bundles lead to significantly lower monthly rates per port.

For hosting providers, cloud platforms and connectivity-driven enterprises, connecting to AMS-IX can significantly improve latency, routing efficiency, and redundancy – often at a better total cost than buying all traffic via transit. The trade-offs are mostly about complexity and focus: this is a B2B platform aimed at network teams, with contracts, SLAs and operational responsibilities that assume good internal BGP and routing expertise. There is no "one-click" hosting here, and no consumer-style refund policy.

In practical terms, AMS-IX is a strong recommendation for networks and hosting companies that want to take peering seriously and are ready to operate at that level. For small website owners or non-technical users, it is not the right destination, but they will often benefit indirectly when their provider peers at AMS-IX.
