Oct, 2003 : Terremark, Arsenal Team for Utility Storage

📅 October 29, 2003 - Miami-based Terrremark Worldwide, Inc. (terremark.com ), an operator of integrated Tier-1 Network Access Points (NAP), launched today new storage solutions that are designed to help customers safeguard their business data and support their disaster recover and business continuity planning. According to the company, the services are available on a utility basis, allowing customers to pay only for the services that they use, on demand.

Terremark said it has teamed up with storage management services provider Arsenal Digital Solutions (arsenaldigital.com) to provide on-demand backup and recovery services. As part of the agreement, Arsenal will manage a storage environment with capacity in excess of 700 Terabytes that it has now deployed at the NAP of the Americas.
"Today, customers are deeply concerned with the safety, reliability and accessibility of their mission-critical data," said Frank Brick, chairman and CEO, Arsenal Digital Solutions. "By combining our expertise in providing leading storage solutions with Terremark's massively connected facility and its redundant and secure infrastructure, these new services allow customers to backup and store copies of their data at Terremark's NAP of the Americas, without the need for capital investment."
The company said the new services address the growing data protection needs of customers.
According to Manuel D. Medina, chairman and CEO of Terremark, "Delivering new local and network-based services is the natural evolution to the connectivity Terremark has amassed at the NAP of the Americas, which positions it as a premier platform for the distribution of Web services that require extensive connectivity, reach-ability and reliability."
Terremark said it would continue to introduce new managed services.

📅 Feb 9, 2009 - Terremark Delays Building in Santa Clara - Terremark Worldwide (terremark.com ) announced on Monday it has decided to delay the building of a data center in Santa Clara, California, focusing its development budget dollars instead on its data center in Virginia, the NAP of the Capital Region, according to a report by Data Center Knowledge.

The company says it is seeing significant demand for colocation and managed hosting services at the Culpeper, Virginia facility.
