Mar 16, 2005 : Play.com Picks Zeus Traffic Manager
📅 - Internet infrastructure solutions provider Zeus Technology (zeus.com) announced that UK online entertainment retailer Play.com has deployed Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager to scale up their e-commerce platform.
Play.com is the UK's second most visited online retailer, drawing in more than two million customers in over 30 countries. It offers the free delivery of DVDs, CDs, games, books and electronics. Play.com said its significant growth in business and high Web site traffic required the company to find a scaleable solution that would improve the performance of their Web site. "We looked at some hardware solutions however none had the functionality or flexibility of ZXTM to cope with the increasing demands on our e-commerce site," says David Turner, IT manager for Play.com. "As well as enabling us to provide our customers a better service with faster and more reliable delivery of our web content, ZXTM gives us the ability to plan for future growth by enabling us to simply scale up our infrastructure and introduce faster hardware as needed."
