📅 - Internap Network Services (internap.com -> inap.com), a leading provider of intelligent routing services, announced on Monday that NHL.com, the official web site of the National Hockey League, has chosen Internap as its primary provider of Internet connectivity. The site is already connected to Internap's New York service point to enhance its ability to provide its users with news, schedules, scores, statistics and standings. The NHL says Internap is helping the league to deliver its information and entertainment in a more effective way. The league says it chose Internap to ensure more efficient and dependable Internet connectivity to its users, adding that it was pleased at how quickly the service was set up. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are a busy time for the NHL. But Internap says its patented routing technology, which intelligently directs traffic along the least congested path, will enhance features and services for NHL.com users. Internap's Overlay Network constantly monitors the traffic across the major Internet backbones and works to route data in a faster and better-managed fashion than conventional Internet technology. And NHL.com is a Web site that puts up serious connectivity demands. Offering its users services such as bulletin boards, fan-to-fan chats and other interactive and non-interactive features including video and audio footage and photographs.
