👈 Official Responses: 0) announced on Wednesday it has named Rodney Wentz the company's new director of IT, where he will work on the automating the internal systems and enhancing Global Net Access' portal.
According to Jeff Hinkle, pesident of GNAX, "automation will be a key push for GNAX/AtlantaNAP/NetDepot in 2009."
This is the first major appointment that the colocation firm has announced since November, when it appointed B E Lawson III as director of operations for GNAX and subsidiary Colo Facilities Atlanta.
"I'm very pleased to welcome a professional of Rodney's caliber to our team," says Hinkle. "Rodney comes to GNAX with very impressive credentials and a proven record of success and we look forward to him bringing his talents to GNAX."
Prior to joining GNAX, Wentz worked as VP of operations and was co-founder of Vertical Acuity, where he built and deployed the production data center including the networking, automated server deployments and all business systems.
He also served in vice president roles with Media Works, LIVEperson, formerly Proficient Systems, and director positions with The Bisys Group and CBIZ.
Wentz has had experience with a range of SAS-70 certifications and US Federal compliances including Gramm-Leach Bliley, Sarbanes-Oxley, The Patriot Act and HIPPA.
GNAX primarily operates out of its sister company, AtlantaNAP (atlantanap.com -> hostinger.com), which owns and operates a data center centrally located in the historic West End area of Atlanta.
In October, AtlantaNAP doubled its cooling capacity from 1,000 tons to 2,000 tons with the addition of two new cooling towers to prepare for its final phase of Tier 2 and 3 construction that will add 22,500 square feet of floor space.
