Dec 6, 2006 : SWsoft Adds Plesk 8.1 Versions

📅 December 6, 2006 - Web hosting automation and virtualization software provider SWsoft (swsoft.com) announced on Tuesday that it has released its Plesk 8.1 for Linux/Unix and Plesk 8.1 for Windows control panel software.

The new release gives the Windows version many of the features found in the Linux/Unix version, enabling Web hosts to offer similar solutions to their customers on both platforms. The company says that future versions of the software will also be released simultaneously.

"Plesk 8.1 marks a major turning point for SWsoft and the hosting market by bringing the capabilities of the Linux/Unix version to the Windows platform," says Lorena Diaz, product manager of SWsoft. "After an intensive product development effort that included the SWsoft Community Technology Preview program, Plesk 8.1 delivers a high quality control panel solution with significantly enhanced customization and management capabilities for providers, resellers and end users."

Previously offered only with Plesk 8.0 for Linux/Unix, Plesk 8.1 for Windows improves the functionality and system management for administrators and customers. The software includes several important updates, including improvements to the custom desktop, new user-friendly news management features and Fedora Core 5 support.
