Jul 27, 2001 : iBIZ to Acquire Assets of Qhost.com
📅 - iBIZ Technology Corp. (ibizcorp.com), a leading manufacturer of handheld accessories and provider of data center services business networks, yesterday announced it will acquireassets of Qhost.com, a Phoenix-based Web and e-commerce hosting provider, as part of its strategy to expand its data center operations and customer base.
Under terms of the deal, which is expected to close on August 1, 2001, iBIZwill acquire from Bitwise Software International, Inc., Qhost.com's parentcompany, Qhost customers, the Qhost.com trademark, Qhost domain names, andother assets. In anticipation of the closing date, iBIZ has begun theprocess of transitioning all Qhost.com web hosting customers, equipment andservice agreements to the iBIZ data center. iBIZ has also hired twoQhost.com associates to join the team of technicians at the facility and tofacilitate the transition process.
"Qhost.com has experienced tremendous growth over the past two years. As aresult, our data center and support staff needs have also dramaticallyincreased," Jay Falconer, president of Bitwise, said. "iBIZ can provide thelevel of Web hosting service and stability that Qhost.com customers havecome to expect."
Ken Schilling, iBIZ president and CEO, said: "Qhost.com has provided solidWeb and e-commerce service to its customers, and iBIZ is ready to furtherenhance this service.
