Jul, 2001 : Sprint Announces FlowCom Deal in Australia


📅 - Sprint (sprint.com), a world-class provider of IP global communications services, announced today a major internet connection for FlowCom (flowcom.com.au), an Australian telecommunications facilities carrier and data service provider.

This rapid installation was made possible using SprintLink, Sprint's globalIP network. SprintLink provides single AS number, non-stop connection to amajority of the world's Internet content. The agreement with FlowCom wasdesigned specifically to connect the carrier's customers to that (primarilyUS-based) content.
Sprint announced the availability of its global IP network in Sydney in Mayof 2001, as part of the buildout of its SprintLink network. Since February,when Sprint announced plans to extend its global IP network, nine marketshave been opened for service: London, Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels, Amsterdam,Sydney, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Tokyo. Other cities to be added toSprint's IP backbone in 2001 include Hong Kong, Milan, Munich, Dublin,Hamburg and Singapore. By the end of 2003, Sprint's global network isexpected to reach 35 cities in 19 countries.
