Speedera Announces Partner Program for Content and Streaming Delivery Services
📅 - Speedera Networks (speedera.com), a top tier global provider of content delivery services, has announced Speedera Fusion, a strategic channel program which provides partners such as web hosting providers and carriers with turnkey solutions for a full set of managed content delivery network (CDN) services, from streaming media to web content delivery to global load balancing.
By joining this program, service providers - such as Globix, HitachinetBusiness, Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. and Wipro Net Ltd, the ISP armof Wipro Corporation - can provide value-added services to their customers, using Speedera's managed services and its globally deployed content deliverynetwork.
The company says the key to the Fusion Program is the ability for partnersto control the amount of traffic served from within their own network whileat the same time having seamless access to Speedera's multi-network globalfootprint - this "fusion" of the two networks is made possible bySpeedera's global traffic management system.
To implement this solution, Speedera can either build POPs within thepartner's data centers, or integrate the partner's existing POPs. In eithercase, Speedera's global traffic management system allows policy-basedcontent routing to control traffic flows based on such factors asperformance, availability, service levels and load.
Speedera says its services can be implemented for its partners within 30days, with minimal upfront costs.
According to Greg Howard, principal analyst and founder at HTRC Group, LLC,"Market conditions are forcing service providers worldwide to offer managedservices in order to break away from pure commodity businesses, increasingboth their gross margins and their revenues. Speedera Fusion offersproviders an effective way to add managed services quickly and at relativelylow cost."
"We wanted to offer more extensive CDN services to our more than 3,500customers quickly, and we chose to layer Speedera services on top of ourexisting state-of-the-art EarthCache service offering," said Peter Herzig,CEO of Globix. "Speedera provides a layer of functionality andspeed-to-market that is complementary to our EarthCache solution, and thatruns over our own international fiber-optic backbone."
Speedera's decision to focus on channel partners is based on the growingneed on the part of managed service providers, Web hosters and co-locationcompanies to offer value-added, content delivery services. Many of thesecompanies have their own data center and connectivity infrastructure inplace, want to maximize the use of that infrastructure, and want to extendtheir offerings to new services and new geographic regions, but cannotafford to buy the technology and build the necessary content deliverynetwork themselves.
Speedera says Fusion enables these vendors to immediately offer theirenterprise customers an enhanced portfolio of Internet services thatincreases customer satisfaction and retention, offers quick ROI andincreases revenue. Speedera's partners control their own traffic flows, their costs, their relationships with their customers and even their ownbranding, as Fusion partners have the flexibility to either co-brand orprivate label Speedera's services.
With Fusion as a driving force behind its revenues, Speedera plans to extendits reach into additional markets, expanding its channels, and increasingits global network footprint. The company says it expects to be announcingseveral additional Fusion partners in the coming weeks.
