Quantum's NAS Products Supported by Veritas Data Protection
📅 - Quantum Corporation (quantum.com), a provider of dataprotection and network storage systems, today announced that its Snap Serverproduct line is supported by Veritas Software's Veritas Backup Exec productsfor Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000. Veritas Software (veritas.com) provides data protection and disk-to-disk backup for the family of Snap Server Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances.

One of the enhancements to Veritas Backup Exec version 8.6 is a backup todisk feature that provides users the ability to backup to and restore fromhard drives, RAID systems and NAS appliances. Disk-based backup solutionscan help reduce the backup latency often seen with traditional backupdevices and can decrease access time to the data, which reduces recoverytime in the event of a system failure.

The Snap Server product family includes the desktop model Snap Server 100040GB and 80GB, and the Snap Server 2200 160GB. The Snap Server 4100 240GBand 400GB are 1U rack-mountable units. The Snap Server 12000 is a 3U 960GBproduct featuring hot swap drives and redundant hardware for corporatedepartments and large workgroups.
