Avaya Opens Caribbean/Latin American Headquarters in Miami

(avaya.com), a global provider of voice and datanetworks, today inaugurated in Miami its new Caribbean/Latin Americaheadquarters and opened the Customer Solutions Center of the Americas, afacility strategically located to service customers from the Americas aswell as around the world.
Governor Jeb Bush officiated at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grandopening event. "The new Avaya facility, with nearly 50,000 square feet ofspace and 200 employees, represents a $10 million investment in SouthFlorida," said Bush. "This is exactly the kind of business we want tocontinue attracting and see flourish in the state of Florida."
The grand opening was hosted by Avaya's CEO and chairman of the board,Donald K. Peterson, and Elizabeth Garcia, president of Avaya's Caribbean andLatin America region.
"Avaya recognizes the importance of providing customers with the resourcesto help them reach their bottom line," said Peterson. "This Centerdemonstrates how we carry out our commitment to service our customers fromaround the hemisphere by providing the most advanced technology and some ofour most talented global systems engineers."
Avaya's Customer Solutions Center of the Americas houses Avaya's executiveBriefing Center, which features video-conferencing and demonstration areas,and the Customer Solutions Labs, where customers have the ability to testand model their specific network requirements with advanced simulationtools, secure broadband and Internet connections, and engineering andconsulting expertise. The executive Briefing Center serves as the entrypoint to the cumulative resources of the Customer Solutions Labs. The MiamiBriefing Center is the third of its kind in the United States, the eighthworldwide, and the only one anywhere in the world connected to a CustomerSolutions Lab, technical assistance center and R&D Lab, the company says.
Florida is one of the top six states where Avaya's largest presence isconcentrated. Avaya has approximately 1,100 employees in 18 officesthroughout the state of Florida, with more than 350 employees in Miami-Dadeand Broward counties. The new Miami facility will house more than 200 ofthose South Florida employees.
