📅 - Sprint (sprintesolutions.com) announced today that AWSConvergence Technologies, Inc. (aws.com), which owns and operates a global weather network as well as the online WeatherBug service (weatherbug.com), has selected Sprint to provide Web hosting for its line of online services.

Sprint has completed the move of AWS servers to Sprint's Reston, Va. IDC,providing co-location, monitoring and Internet connectivity services to AWSto meet its current needs and future anticipated growth. Usage of AWS'WeatherBug.com, one of the Top 50 U.S. Web sites according to Jupiter MediaMetrix's Jan. 2002 Web report, grew 600 percent in 2001 and the companycurrently boasts more than 7 million registered users.
"We were looking for a company that could offer us the reliability,stability and scalability we need as WeatherBug and our other weatherinformation services geared toward broadcast news outlets, schools andconsumers continue to grow rapidly," said Chris Sloop, CTO for AWS. Sprint's Reston Internet Center offers Sprint E|Solutions customersapplication and Web hosting support, co-location, monitoring and reportingperformance, and IT consulting services. Sprint also provides managedservices for customers, including Business Continuity Planning, Security,and Mobile Computing Solutions.
