Sep, 2002 : 1&1 Internet Offers .NET Hosting in Europe

📅 September 30, 2002 - European Web hosting company 1&1 Internet Ltd. (OneAndOne.co.uk -> fasthosts.co.uk) said on Monday that it will be the first company to offer next generation Microsoft Windows .NET Server hosting across Europe.

The company says that, beginning in October, .NET hosting packages will be available from 1&1 in the UK on the pre-release version of the Windows .NET Server 2003 including IIS 6.0. 1&1 says it is the only European Web hosting company selected by Microsoft to be a "Joint Development Partner" for .NET server technology.
Windows .NET Server, says 1&1, is a completely new server technology, providing the fastest, most reliable, most secure Windows server operating system ever. Microsoft .NET Hosting automatically includes FrontPage 2002 Extensions on the server, allowing users to add further functionality to their sites. Microsoft Access allows integration of highly technical databases and Microsoft SQL Server allows the building of professional databases.
1&1 says it offers three Microsoft Web hosting packages, including the Microsoft Home Package for 5.99 pounds per month, the Microsoft Business Package for 9.99 pounds per month and the Microsoft Professional Package for 19.99 pounds per month.
"1&1 Internet were chosen by Microsoft for their enormous technical expertise and operational efficiency," says Neil Jordan, NSP solution sales manager at Microsoft. "In the web hosting market, 1&1 not only manage the greatest number of domains, but are above and beyond competitors in their knowledge and efficiency within the hosting market."
