Oct 29, 2002 : Verio Launches Web Hosting Framework

📅 October 29, 2002 - IP solution and Web hosting provider Verio Inc. (Verio.com ) announced on Tuesday that it has introduced the next phase of its enterprise hosting strategy with the launch of its NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform hosting framework.

The NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform, says Verio, extends the company's range of managed hosting products for midsize and large enterprises, giving customers the ability to build out infrastructure on demand by drawing on modular technology building blocks, tiered support and enhanced services.
The framework is designed to simplify the hosting options available to customers, and consists of four key parts, including PowerPlatform Hosting, PowerPlatform Managed Services, PowerPlatform Support and the new PowerPortal.
The new PowerPlatform Hosting options, says Verio, include RapidRollout Solutions, targeted to the entry-level dedicated market; Modular Solutions, aimed at the mid-to-high end market; and Colocation solutions, designed to provide resilient data center space and Internet access. RapidRollout solutions provide a simplified menu of products and services, from which entry-level dedicated customers can quickly build their service architecture and service plan. Modular Hosting Solutions allow customers with more sophisticated hosting needs to build their infrastructure using NTT/VERIO standardized server configurations and services.
PowerPlatform Managed Services, says Verio, are offered on top of the hosting layer, and can be deployed on all the hosting platforms. The new services being introduced include Smart Content Delivery, TotalPerformance Monitoring, managed application services and professional services including site migration and system administration support services.
According to Verio, the NTT/VERIO PowerPortal is an interactive service portal that offers a working view into the operations of their infrastructure. The service includes account summaries, status reports, online requests and trouble ticketing.
"With the introduction of the NTT/VERIO PowerPlatform hosting framework, we continue to enhance our product set, giving customers greater options and ensuring we can best meet their outsourcing and hosting challenges," said Isabel Ehringer, president of Verio's Enterprise Hosting Business Unit. "Our modular methodology is designed for streamlined deployment and can deliver a complete range of solutions for customers, from the less complex to the more sophisticated technical needs."
