Register.com says its Register.com Corporate Services will implement a strategy to manage registrations for the Switzerland-based company worldwide. The company says Register.com Corporate Services is committed to helping large corporations manage and protect brands on the Internet. The entire Nestle portfolio will be administered through Name Console, Register.com's Web-based domain name management tool, which will centralize the process of carrying out administrative tasks like registrations, modifications and renewals. ?One of the major problems that large intellectual property owners face is the ad hoc way in which many domain names may have been registered in the past,? says Michael Pollack, general manager of Register.com, Corporate Services. ?Historically, different departments within a company have been involved in registering domains, resulting in a fragmented portfolio. Without a centralised portfolio and standardised information, keeping track of renewals and new registrations can be problematic.
