The partnership, say the companies, will focus on combining the core competencies of the two companies and offering them to enterprise and carrier-class customers at HP facilities in Latin America and Terremark NAPs, including the NAP of the Americas. Under the terms of the partnership, both companies will share in the cost and revenues derived from the initiative. HP will provide its service and product portfolio, access to enterprise customers, sales channels, consulting, technical and facilities support services, local hosting facilities in Latin America and other locations and finance capabilities. Terremark will provide its Gigabit Ethernet peering fabric, network engineering, design and operation services, access to its tier-1 carrier customer base, sales channels and suite of network outsourcing and professional services. "We chose Terremark because of their core network expertise and know-how and their proven track record in operating state-of-the-art Internet infrastructures," says Eduardo Araujo, vice president of HP services in Latin America. "This is the first step in establishing a long-term relationship between HP and Terremark. As the two companies further define areas of technological and marketing cooperation, we look forward to the potential development of new products and services to provide our vast list of customers with the cost-effective solutions and value-added services they need."
