👈 Official Responses: 0)announced today that it will provide network services, hosting infrastructure solutions and security to See's Candies (sees.com), a San Francisco-based firm that provides candies and chocolate to more than 200 stories in the western United States.

See's Candies has primarily sold its products through retail outlets in the western United States. In recent years, the company has seen significant growth in its mail orders, with Web orders now accounting for more than half of all its mail order business.
"Given the tremendous growth opportunities of the online channel, we are obviously well aware of the business implications if our site infrastructure is not operating at peak performance," said Greg Gibbons, MIS director at See's Candies. "We now have a highly secure infrastructure and firewall protection, and Verio delivered everything we needed at a good value as well."
See's Information Systems group said that security and performance were key criteria in their decision process. In addition, See's said it was especially impressed by the network performance of the NTT/Verio Internet backbone, the value and quality of services offered and Verio's corporate stability.
"See's Candies saw that its online business was continuing to grow and would increasingly serve as the company's face to the customer," said Isabel Ehringer, president of Enterprise Hosting for Verio. "See's wanted to ensure a flawless customer experience and that meant the infrastructure and connectivity had to deliver top-quality service, especially during critical sales periods. We're pleased to be able to support See's online business needs today and as they increasingly look to the Web for growth opportunities."
