Based on a rigorous market analysis and its current facilities footprint, Terremark has developed a strategy to target three primary markets in the United States, Europe and Latin America.
"As a result of the ongoing Data Return integration work, we have identified cost effective organizational changes key to serving our customers and fueling our expansion strategy," says Manuel D. Medina, chairman and CEO of Terremark Worldwide. "One of those important organizational changes was to better align our business operations with our primary global target markets."
Management appointments include longtime Terremark chief operations officer Marvin Wheeler, who was promoted to president of US commercial business unit. Herman Oggel, former CEO of Terremark's Benelux-based managed hosting subsidiary Dedigate, was named president of the European business unit. Agustin Abalo was named president of the Latin American business unit, joining Terremark from Banco Santander International.
Barry Field, former head of sales for Data Return, was named senior vice president of US commercial sales. Tom Blair, former head of channel sales for Data Return, was named vice president of channel sales. Simon West, former head of marketing for Data Return, was appointed to vice president of marketing. Finally, Xavier Gonzalez has joined Terremark as director of corporate communications.
Terremark announced last month it launched the NAP of the Capital Region project.
