Siteground is just fine until you decide to change hosts. Then, get ready for the battle of your life. I made the mistake of trying to see if they had any cheaper hosting packages and contacted sales on May 2, 2009. I told them I would have to find cheaper hosting and from there the games began:
May 2,
They changed my password so I could not get into the domain management
They changed my contact email to newdomains@siteground.com so any transfer I tried to do was sent to them through ENOM
May 3
I was able to get a new password, unlocked my domain and got the EPP code for transfer...did not notice they had changed my contact email under domain management to newdomains@siteground.com
May 12
Changed email after new host sent me the Cancel request for transfer from newdomains@siteground.com
May 16
DId a WHOIS at Network Solutions and they are still the contact
Did a WHOIS at ENOM (who they sub from) and it has not been updated since May 3rd.
Contacted customer support with 5 responses of why they think according to ENOM my transfer is fine to go through.
Its all lies. They do not display the registrant email at ENOM to protect Siteground and stop transfers. They will do ANYTHING to stop a hosting transfer, from locking you out by changing your password, changing your contact email addresses, and not updating your WHOIS information.
Use SITEGROUND at your own peril.
