I bought a domain name and web-hosting with Hobo-host. They sent me the e-mail confirmation for the domain name and charged my bank for it. Then for a about two days, I find that I can't get my ftp to work, email or anything. So, I figure it's just the domain propagation that's taking a bit. I go and do a whois lookup on my domain, because I want to just check out the privacy features. Their web-site is no too good and does not explain how their domain privacy works. Sometimes a privacy service will still leave your name exposed, but for this domain I wasn't too worried about it and I figured for the price I could deal with HoboHosts lousy website. When I looked up my domain, it wasn't registered. It was still for sale. Yet I was assured that everything was right by Hobohost. Basically, they lied and never registered my domain name. They still tried to set the renewal for the same date I paid for it too, even though the domain wasn't registered on that date or at all. I bought the domain from someone else, while it was still apparently registered by hobo. I mean, my dashboard had my domain in there looking like it was registered when it wasn't. They never apologized for it and never admitted they lied or were cheating me on my domain. I have bought a slew of domains from all over the net for years and have never encountered such horrible service. I guess, it's just that you get what you pay for, except I didn't even get that.
To top it all off, they harassed me with emails for months afterwards, refusing to stop emailing me about my accounts that has been fully closed and refunded. Oh, and they also blocked my IP so I couldn't even access their website at all. They did this as if I was the problem when I never did anything wrong. They did it out of resentment against giving me my refunds, saying I've cancelled my service too many times. Yeah, I cancelled and renewed my service several times with them, but I did it as per the terms and conditions, I paid for everything, and I never requested a refund before until they finally sent me a bum package with an unregistered domain name. I don't see how they have the right to complain if I cancel my service and then later decide to sign up again with a new package. They never lost any money from it and it's my business to do that I wish to. Yet, they go an block my IP just to be a-holes, when I had no intention of ever buying from Hobo ever again anyway. I was prompted to write this complaint because to this day I am still receiving the same emails from them over the open tickets I had with them for what I lastly got a refund for and closed my account with them. They keep sending me these stupid emails saying the tickets are "open" when they've been closed for months and I have nothing more to do or settle with them. They are just harassing me by doing this, like blocking my IP. I have the emails that closed those tickets and then they reopen them after everything's been concluded and keep sending me these tickets, as if I have something I still need to take care of with them, LOL.They're idiots and just screwing with me now, because I quit them.
Hello there, I reviewed this account and can see that you were cursing and abusive towards the support representative that helped you with this matter. We by no means cheated you over the $11.25 for your domain name you purchased. As the support representative said, there was an issue with the API when we tried to negotiate the registration with the registrar. Unfortunately, bugs like this happen in technology and we did not question a full refund for a second. Your IP address was blocked from orders because we have no interest in attaining customers with an attitude and mindset like yourself. All of your services were inactive which gave us an opportunity to end any future business relationship.
