Problems began immediately. We moved to a better host but had to wait the 60 days before they would cancel. After the wait, found out they hadn't released our domain. Ordered the release and have been ignored for over two weeks. We are a new start up and eHost has destroyed our deadlines. Since we are an online business, we are out of business until they release the domain. Their Live Chat people (except for 1) lack skills for their job, are rude, patronizing, and inefficient. I wish we had paid with Pay Pal, maybe then we would get our name back.
I am suspicious that the many websites and comments raving about ehost are set up by ehost themselves. This company is horrible from start to finish. The customer service is terrible and rude, the site itself is a joke and the two dollar (four dollar or whatever they are pretending this month) is a BIG FAT LIE! They are the worst webhosting service I have ever dealt with! Rub two sticks together and you will get a faster fire.
Takes anyone anywhere 30 seconds max to register a domain name - they claimed they would need 48-72 hours to do that. Of course, in THAT amount of time, chosen domain name could be gone.
Cancelled account = they claimed it would take a few days to do that. No refund after 3 days; filed unauthorized transaction with Paypal. Contacted ehost to tell them I had done that and Wow! instant verification of cancellation! Wonder how long it would have taken had I NOT filed complaint with Paypal??? Sad sad "service"

ehostsource has always been problematic, frequent site outages, minimal communications, sketchy renewal policies. This year is the straw that broke this camel's back--they charged my credit card in May, even though my account renews in September, then charged me again in August. No response in either instance to multiple phone calls and emails. I'm reporting the charges as fraudulent to my credit card company, maybe that will get someone's attention--but I doubt it. Complete jerks--stay away at all costs!
The day one I become a member, my site has been hacked by eHost agent. My site becoming big gigantic ads site with porn materials.
According to them, eHost agent should not ask any password nor personal information. Well, the person I connected with via chat, he asked me password. Since then my site has been taken over and I can't do anything about it nor eHost agents. Now, tech guy said today, "sorry I can't help you because you did not have Domain Privacy. Hello? you guys cause damage to my site, and refused to do anything? Why do I have to pay to protect from eHost agents?
I figured eHost is may be good for some people, but not for me. I do not see any sincerity to their customers at least a bit. They just issues ticket for your issue but don't expect to do any good job for you.
Impossible to contact. The toll free number is no longer a working number. The phone number to dial directly, states that the mailbox is full. All e-mail is ignored. The P.O. box they use for a mailing address on the website, is no longer a working address, unable to forward. They stopped reminding me when it was time to renew. It would appear that they just up and walked away, and abandoned the business. I switched to another hosting company. And I have sent two certified letter's in an attempt to cancel my account. While my site is just a genealogy website, I can only imagine how frustrating this would have been if I had been running a business.
I have had trouble with them every year, they never do the auto renewal as they should do. Then when you try to contact them, you can never get a real person, just a recording to leave a message. This is the 2nd year in a row, you could not leave a message, the mail box if full. June is our critical time for having a website, we have our website listed on all our advertising for a June event. Since they seem to also let our hosting expire without the auto renewal in June, we paid to extend our expiration date to the fall. Somehow they did not change their records and they still have taken our website off in June. I am very mad!
Had service with them for years. Service sucked all the time but was not making too many updates. This year (2013) took my money and did not respond to emails or phone calls with my issues when my site was a mess. Went to another host(had to change my domain name) and now they have my old site flagged as suspended for non payment and sending spam. Both lies. They have my money and the only spam came from them. My site was a disgrace just like them. Reported them to BBB and Atty Gen of No Carolina.
I have tried for weeks with emails and voice mails to get help with accessing my site and datbbase. I get no response what so ever. They use to be real good but since Oct 2012 I can not get ahold of anybody. It seesm right after they took my yearly payment they stopped with any support.
I would like to either get the infomation I requested or be allowed to transfer my domain to another host company.
I deeply regret having to write this review. I went with them last year because my company objective is to keep jobs in the USA and in our home state of NC. I am very disappointed. The site (and email service) has been down multiple times, customer service is non-existent, and calls are never returned. The impact of their failure on my business is huge. I will not recommend them to anyone.
I am compiling my complaint to the state attorney's office for their business and filing a claim against them
I am sick of people who think they can continue to rip people off in the manner they do.
Obviously they think I am stupid, however, I will fight this till the deaf or they go out of business.
