Domain registration is an important part of the business. Intention works directly with several European registries, including SIDN for .nl, DNS Belgium for .be, EURid for .eu, together with registries handling .nu, .se, and .uk domains. The hosting platform uses LiteSpeed (litespeedtech.com) with LSCache support, while e-mail filtering is handled through SpamExperts (spamexperts.com). Backups are created every 12 hours. Retention is one week on Start, two weeks on Pro, and four weeks on Premium, and customers can restore their own backups through the hosting control panel.

Website migration is another useful part of the service. Intention can move website files, databases, e-mail accounts, DNS configuration, and the domain itself. The migrated website is prepared and tested on the new platform before the DNS change is completed, allowing the customer to verify the result before going live. The migration service is currently provided free of charge instead of the regular €52.50 fee.

Intention has more network autonomy than a typical small shared-hosting reseller. The company is a RIPE member, manages its own IP address resources, and operates its own autonomous system. 🏢 Data Center

Intention operates its hosting infrastructure in the Netherlands. The platform uses enterprise server and network hardware, including Juniper networking equipment and Supermicro servers. Important routers and switches are deployed redundantly, while spare production-grade hardware is kept available so failed components can be replaced quickly.

Power protection includes UPS systems together with generator backup for longer electricity interruptions. The hosting infrastructure also runs on green energy.

Intention uses an internally developed control panel instead of cPanel or Plesk. The environment is primarily Dutch-language and provides access to hosting services, domains, DNS, e-mail, invoices, and other account functions through mijn.intention.nl.

Developing the platform internally gives Intention direct control over new features and allows functionality to be adapted without depending on a commercial third-party control-panel vendor.

Hosting customers can restore backups, manage databases, configure e-mail, work with DNS records, and install applications from the same environment. Domain management includes DNS versioning and DynDNS, while API access is available for customers who want to automate domain-related operations.
