😠 I too had hosting with Black Widow Business Developments (BWBD) for over 2 years previous to their claim to selling the company as the review states above. However I am suspicious of the validity of the sale. I've been searching under the domains whois and found something that I find very odd. BWBD claim to have sold the hosting company in Feb 09, so why does this site here http://www.landlines-heritage.co.uk/ look familiar to all who have been ripped off with hosting fees. If you do a whois on the domain you will recognise the domain owner as the director of BWBD. I find this very suspicious and I have emails from the staff (Steve and Katie) of DevineHost that originate from the BWBD domain.

Avoid all companies involved in my view.

Big thanks to www.web-hosting-top.com I now have a new reputable host for less cost than the cowboys listed above. Keep up the good work WHT

📜 About Devine Hosting

2AM Network (2006–2010): Built by Technologists, Trusted by Clients

In an era when the web hosting industry was rapidly commoditizing, 2AM Network emerged as a rare beacon of authenticity and technical excellence. Founded in 2006 in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) as a small web services firm under the name CamNet Networks, the company quickly rebranded to reflect its 24/7 ethos and deeper infrastructure focus, becoming the 2AM Network.

Though its lifespan was relatively short, ending in 2010, the company's unwavering dedication to technical integrity, customer transparency, and no-frills performance left a lasting impression on a loyal client base and a competitive industry.

Not Just a Hosting Company—A Technical Partnership
What separated 2AM Network from the sea of generic providers was its founder-led, engineer-driven philosophy. The company was run by information technology professionals, not business moguls chasing margins. Its staff held formal post-secondary qualifications in IT fields, which gave them a unique ability to deliver real solutions rather than scripted support.

This grounding in technology meant that 2AM Network treated web hosting as more than just bandwidth and disk space—it treated it as an engineering discipline, one deserving of expert oversight, efficient systems, and transparent operations.

Customer Support That Actually Cared
2AM Network offered true 24/7/365 support, even during holidays—a claim many make but few deliver on. Unlike the outsourced call centers or email black holes that plagued the industry, their ticket-based system was designed for clarity, speed, and accountability. Most responses arrived in under 15 minutes, and support interactions became part of a well-documented history, available to the customer at any time.

The company intentionally did not offer direct phone support by default. Instead, they invested in streamlining their helpdesk workflows to minimize downtime and confusion. However, customers needing voice contact could always request a callback through the system.

This approach kept costs low while maximizing technical efficiency—a perfect reflection of their no-nonsense, expert-first business model.

Rock-Solid Infrastructure and Data Resilience
Behind the scenes, 2AM Network was built for reliability. Its servers were distributed across three geographically diverse data centers—in Dallas, Chicago, and Seattle—with expansion plans aimed at Washington, D.C. and the U.K.

These data centers were connected to a robust mesh of Tier 1 backbone providers including Level3, InterNap, Savvis, nLayer, Global Crossing, and more. If one carrier failed or experienced latency, automated failover systems rerouted traffic instantly, ensuring zero customer disruption.

2AM’s DNS architecture was equally redundant. It maintained independent DNS servers in all three data centers, meaning a total DNS failure would require simultaneous collapse in all three locations—an almost impossible scenario. This design ensured that even under high load or regional outages, customers’ sites remained accessible.

Enterprise Hardware Without the Enterprise Price
Every 2AM hosting server was built from top-tier components—Intel quad-core CPUs, ECC RAM, multi-drive configurations for redundancy, and off-site backups for extra insurance. This hardware wasn't just reliable—it was intentionally overprovisioned to eliminate the risks of resource contention so common with budget hosts.

Moreover, the company monitored each server externally, checking all essential services (HTTP, FTP, MySQL, SSH, email) every minute. If an issue was detected, on-call engineers were immediately notified. There was no waiting for clients to report a problem—the team was already on it.

Ethical Guarantees and Customer-Centric Policies
2AM Network never relied on aggressive upsells or tricky contracts. Instead, it offered:

A 99.9% uptime guarantee
A 30-day money-back guarantee
A price lock promise that ensured long-term clients weren’t penalized with surprise rate hikes

These policies weren’t marketing gimmicks—they were reflections of a company culture that prioritized long-term trust over short-term profit.

A Short Life, But a Legacy of Integrity
By the time 2AM Network closed in 2010, it had left behind more than just a trail of satisfied customers—it left behind a model of how web hosting could and should be done. Though it never sought to dominate the market, its reputation for straightforward reliability and deep technical competence made it a favorite among developers, IT consultants, and small businesses.

😠 I use to be a bwbd.co.uk customer and can not fault their hosting and immediate reply and support network.

Unfortunately they sold their windows hosting to A7th Network who claim to be a reputable company and have a dead webpage at a7th.com as soon as you try to contact them via any of the links they all go to www.a7th.com/ which leads nowhere. They have passed on the hosting to a sister company www.devinehosting.com which is also dead and are not contactable as they have no webpage online.

My hosting that I paid for a year (10g) is not due for renew until April 2010 yet it has been down 3 times now when its stability was 99.9% when originally with bwbd.co.uk.

Who are these cowboys at devinehosting.com and a7th.com that dissapear overnight.

I would rate these two later companies in the minus figures.

Avoid at all costs!
