XLHost is a privately held infrastructure and dedicated hosting provider based in Columbus, Ohio. The XLHost brand was established in 2000 by its parent company, eNET Inc., whose Internet access and hosting operations date back to the early 1990s.

The company has remained focused on infrastructure services rather than expanding into general-purpose shared hosting. Its strongest products are bare-metal dedicated servers, discounted dedicated hardware, Linux VPS, private networking, managed hosting, storage, backup, load balancing, endpoint protection and dedicated firewall systems. Customized infrastructure and private-cloud environments are also available for organizations whose requirements do not fit standard server packages.

XLHost operates with a relatively small and technically oriented team. The organization falls within the 11–50 employee range, while its long-term technical leadership includes Chief Technical Officer Drew Weaver, who has worked with the company since 1999.

The regular Bare Metal Dedicated Server range covers single-processor, dual-processor and storage-optimized systems. Current configurations use AMD EPYC and Intel Xeon processors, with monthly prices ranging from approximately $99 to more than $1,200. Systems can include SATA hard drives, enterprise SSDs, NVMe storage, RAID, 1Gbps network ports, IPv4 allocations, IPv6, Windows Server licensing and Microsoft SQL Server.

Dedicated servers offer extensive customization. Memory, storage devices, RAID level, operating system, network allocation, firewall protection, backup storage, server management and remote-access options can be adjusted during ordering. Current operating-system choices include AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS Stream, Proxmox and Windows Server, together with a self-installation option using KVM.

Discount Dedicated Servers start at $69 per month. These systems use recertified hardware that is no longer part of the current production range, so availability depends on remaining inventory. They are suitable for backups, secondary infrastructure, development environments, low-cost storage and workloads that do not require current-generation processors.

The Virtual Private Server range starts at $19.50 per month and uses container-based virtualization. Standard configurations include 1GB to 4GB RAM, 10GB to 40GB SSD RAID-10 storage, one to four IP addresses and 1TB of monthly transfer. These VPS plans run on older dual Intel Xeon E5-2697v2 host systems, making them affordable but less suitable for workloads requiring modern CPU performance, large memory allocations or substantial storage. VPS services are Linux-based and self-managed.

Storage services include mountable NAS storage accessed through CIFS, SMB, FTP or FTPS. Capacity starts at 10GB for $5 per month and is suitable for file sharing, archival storage and simple off-server backups.

XLGuard provides self-managed continuous data protection using R1Soft technology. The service includes instant restore, encryption, database support, bare-metal recovery and web-based management.

Managed services can be purchased individually. System Administration Plus costs $35 per month and includes two hours of technical administration, software installation, optimization, migration work and infrastructure assistance.

Safe & Sound costs $40 per month and covers operating-system updates, application maintenance, software firewall management and endpoint protection on supported Windows systems.

Uptime Defender costs $25 per month and adds connectivity, resource and application monitoring. A combined Complete Server Management package is available for $99 per month.

Additional infrastructure services include shared and dedicated load balancing, WatchGuard hardware firewalls, endpoint security, private Layer 2 networks and private cloud connectivity. Dedicated firewall options begin at approximately $200 per month, while endpoint-protection licenses range from $10 to $40 per server each month.

Customer-owned firewalls, routers and load balancers can also be colocated, with small-device colocation beginning at approximately $50 per month.

Private networks can operate at 1Gbps, 10Gbps, 25Gbps, 40Gbps or 50Gbps and may include VXLAN, VPC, VLT and fabric-based designs. Private connectivity can also extend XLHost infrastructure to Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud through dedicated circuits, VPN or SD-WAN.

A reseller program is available through the sales department, although reseller pricing is not published as a standard package.

The company operates in English, and product prices are displayed in US dollars. The main customer and ordering interfaces are modern and functional, although some informational sections contain older operating-system references. Current software availability and licensing should therefore be confirmed through the live server configurator.
