WorldLink Communications Ltd. is one of Nepal’s largest and longest-established Internet and network service providers, founded in September 1995 by Dileep Agrawal, who continues to serve as Chairman and Managing Director. The business began with store-and-forward email over a dial-up connection to the United States, later moved to a dedicated international leased line and operated its own VSAT terminal between 1997 and June 2008. This network-oriented background explains why WorldLink’s hosting business is focused more on enterprise infrastructure, local connectivity and managed services than on conventional mass-market shared hosting.

Today its portfolio covers residential broadband, business connectivity and a substantial range of enterprise infrastructure services. Hosting customers can choose Email/Hosting Services, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Server Co-location, Private Cloud and Managed Infrastructure, while businesses requiring connectivity can combine these services with dedicated Internet, MPLS/data connectivity, international private leased circuits and dark fiber.

The Email/Hosting Service is particularly relevant to Nepalese companies that prefer to keep services inside the country. WorldLink operates its own hosting servers in Nepal and hosts hundreds of domains on this local infrastructure. Keeping websites and email close to domestic users can reduce dependence on overseas hosting locations while allowing connectivity and hosting support to come from the same provider.

Virtual Private Server hosting provides isolated server resources without requiring a complete physical machine. VPS configurations can be expanded as requirements increase, making the service suitable for business applications, custom websites and workloads needing more flexibility than standard shared hosting. WorldLink handles VPS as an enterprise solution rather than through a typical self-service store with predefined CPU, RAM, SSD and bandwidth packages.

Businesses can therefore consolidate Internet connectivity, infrastructure hosting and day-to-day technical management under one provider.

Its national network is another significant advantage. The core infrastructure uses Nokia (nokia.com) equipment for DWDM, Juniper (juniper.net) and Cisco (cisco.com) technology for IP/MPLS core and aggregation, Extreme Networks (extremenetworks.com) switching, and Nokia together with Huawei (huawei.com) technology on parts of the access network. WorldLink’s fiber network extends across all seven provinces and thousands of locations throughout Nepal.

Infrastructure investment has continued alongside the expansion of the access network. A 2023 financing round involving British International Investment and Dolma Impact Fund II brought approximately NRs 1.98 billion into the company, following an earlier BII investment of roughly NRs 1.35 billion in 2019. Finnfund added €10 million in 2024 for fiber and data-center expansion. In July 2025, WorldLink announced another $29 million financing partnership involving IFC and Standard Chartered Bank Nepal, including development of Nepal’s first EDGE-certified data centers through subsidiary Data World Limited.

For customers primarily interested in conventional shared hosting, WorldLink is less straightforward than a typical retail hosting provider. There is no conventional catalog of Linux or Windows shared-hosting packages, reseller plans, dedicated-server configurations or fixed VPS bundles. The portfolio instead suits organizations that prefer customized infrastructure, local hosting, colocation and direct consultation with an enterprise provider.

The main website is available in English, while Nepali is also used for parts of the company’s local communication and news content. Prices for publicly priced consumer services use Nepalese rupees (NPR/Rs.). The website has a modern layout suitable for both desktop and mobile access.
