WebsiteBuilder.nz, operating internationally under the Website World brand, is a New Zealand website-building, eCommerce, hosting, domain, and business-management platform owned by Web Widgets Ltd. Reuben Jackson began developing the company’s proprietary content management system in Auckland in 2000, while Web Widgets Ltd was formally established in 2002. The business remains relatively small, with a team supported by a broader network of independent designers and resellers throughout New Zealand.

The platform has been used to create thousands of websites and is particularly well suited to small and medium businesses that want website management, online sales, email marketing, customer records, and operational tools in one system. Customers can build their own websites, obtain assistance directly from the company, or work with an independent Website World designer while retaining the same hosting and account-management environment.

The main product is a proprietary New Zealand-developed website builder and CMS. It goes considerably beyond a basic drag-and-drop site creator by combining website design, hosting, domains, DNS, business email, customer management, bulk email campaigns, eCommerce, bookings, memberships, inventory, and point-of-sale functions.

Online stores can support both retail and wholesale operations. The system handles multiple trade-pricing levels, physical and digital products, subscriptions, deposits, discount rules, gift vouchers, loyalty points, event tickets, member-only pricing, stock control, and synchronization between online sales and physical-store transactions. Customers can build and test a website without entering credit-card details before deciding whether to activate paid hosting. PHP and WordPress hosting do not include the same trial because server, database, and FTP access are activated as paid services.

The Website World CMS is tied to the company’s hosting environment and cannot be exported as a complete working platform to another provider. Customers retain their content and domain rights, but moving away normally requires rebuilding or transferring the website into another content management system.
