Webservice is a Belgian web hosting and Internet infrastructure company with roots going back to 1998. The present legal company, Webservice BV/SRL, was incorporated on December 10, 2004, under Belgian enterprise and VAT number BE0870580839. The business operates from Bilzen-Hoeselt in Limburg and is part of PI-Group (pi-group.be), combining hosting, domain services, server infrastructure and network operations within the same technical organization.

Webservice is particularly suited to web designers, developers, agencies and other businesses that prefer to outsource hosting and infrastructure management. A significant part of the service model is oriented toward white-label and reseller customers rather than only individual website owners.

The portfolio includes Linux Shared Hosting, Windows Shared Hosting, cPanel Hosting, Dynamic Reseller Hosting, Email Hosting, Domain Registration, URL Forwarding, Domain Aliasing, Virtual Servers, Dedicated Servers and Colocation. Virtualization has been part of the infrastructure since 2004, giving the company considerable experience with virtual server environments in addition to conventional shared hosting.

Linux hosting uses a relatively streamlined infrastructure based around Apache, PHP and OPcache, with database, email and firewall workloads separated where appropriate. Databases, FTP connections, outgoing mail, server load, I/O and memory consumption are continuously monitored. The environment is suitable for PHP applications including WordPress, Drupal and Joomla.

The standard hosting architecture is not dependent on a heavy commercial control panel. Webservice keeps its principal environment relatively lightweight, while cPanel hosting remains available for customers who specifically prefer the familiar cPanel interface. One of the more distinctive services is Dynamic Reseller Hosting. Rather than forcing resellers into a large fixed package, Webservice charges according to the actual resources consumed. Storage, databases, traffic and additional mailboxes can therefore scale gradually with the reseller's customer base. Only outgoing traffic is charged, while traffic generated by major search-engine crawlers such as Google and Bing is excluded from bandwidth calculations.

Each reseller hosting account includes a mailbox, with additional databases, storage, transfer and email capacity billed separately. Setup pricing also becomes lower as the reseller's number of hosted domains increases, making the model particularly suitable for agencies building a progressively larger hosting portfolio.

Domain registration is another important part of the business. Webservice was among the earlier companies to become a .be registrar and supports a broad range of Belgian, European, international, country-code and newer generic extensions. DNSSEC, internationalized domain names and IPv6 are also supported.

The company manages its own IP addressing and routing environment, while unnecessary server services are disabled as part of its security approach. Hosting capacity is operated without overselling web space and bandwidth.

The website is available in English and Dutch, while services are priced in EUR. Its interface has a noticeably older design compared with modern hosting storefronts and some technical documentation reflects an earlier generation of Internet software. The hosting and network infrastructure itself is substantially more advanced than the visual presentation of the website.
