WebMate is an independent British internet service provider with roots dating to 1996, when founder Gary Hall launched MacAce.net as an internet service created primarily for Macintosh users. The WordPress hosting service uses the same HA infrastructure with WordPress-specific caching, database optimization, security, staging, migration assistance, and performance tuning. Each standard hosting package is generally intended for one website. Customers operating numerous unrelated websites may therefore require separate hosting packages or a customized arrangement.

Despite the "High Availability cPanel Hosting" terminology, customer accounts do not run on a conventional standalone cPanel server. WebMate uses its own cPanel-style interface over the HA stacks environment. It retains familiar file, database, domain, email, and backup management tools while adding controls for EDGE caching, CDN delivery, traffic distribution, diagnostics, and WordPress optimization.

The VPS and BareMetal range is hosted in London and includes root access, SSD storage, a 1 Gbps network connection, optional 10 Gbps connectivity, monitoring, and flexible monthly contracts. VPS resources can be expanded with additional processor cores, memory, and storage.

BareMetal systems include remote IPMI or KVM access and unmetered 1 Gbps traffic. The standard dedicated configurations use Intel Xeon E3-1230 v6 and E5-2620 processors. These remain dependable server processors, although they belong to older hardware generations. Customers with processor-intensive applications should confirm the exact CPU model, storage configuration, benchmark performance, replacement policy, and upgrade options before ordering.

The Web Builder is a proprietary no-code service with responsive templates, stock photographs, fonts, ecommerce components, SEO tools, and a broad range of design combinations. It is suitable for customers who need a straightforward business website without maintaining WordPress.

The related Jumpstart service provides a professionally assembled website from £99, normally with a rapid turnaround. Websites created through Jumpstart remain tied to WebMate’s proprietary builder and cannot simply be transferred to another hosting provider.
