Web24 is a long-established Australian web hosting and cloud infrastructure provider founded in 2001. The business started in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs and developed from traditional website hosting and dedicated servers into a broader portfolio covering virtual servers, managed infrastructure, backups, domains, SSL certificates and related hosting services.

Web24 has changed ownership several times during its history. j2 Global acquired the assets of Web24 Group Pty Ltd in September 2014, with Australian customer information continuing to be stored in Australia. Deluxe Corporation subsequently acquired j2 Global Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Web24, in September 2017. Web24 is now part of Newfold Digital and operates alongside other Australian hosting brands within the same larger group.

The contracting history also reflects these changes. Web24's service terms use the name Hostopia Australia Web Pty Ltd, ABN 24 601 377 904, while the Australian Business Register records the same company under its current legal name, Web Services Australia Pty Ltd, following a name change on October 20, 2022. The Web24 business name remains attached to the same ABN, maintaining corporate continuity despite the ownership and legal-name changes.

The service portfolio covers Shared Web Hosting, cPanel Hosting, Plesk Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Linux VPS, Windows VPS, Cloud VPS, Managed VPS, VMware VPS, Mission Critical VPS, Dedicated Servers, Server Management, Server Monitoring, Server Backup, Domain Registration, DNS and SSL Certificates.

Shared Web Hosting operates with both cPanel and Plesk environments. The platform supports common web applications including WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, Magento, PrestaShop and OpenCart, together with the usual website, database, email and domain-management functions. Separate cPanel and Plesk reseller platforms are also maintained for agencies and customers hosting multiple independent accounts.

The current structure is increasingly integrated with Digital Pacific (digitalpacific.com.au). Some new shared-hosting, reseller-hosting and dedicated-server orders move into Digital Pacific's infrastructure rather than remaining entirely within a standalone Web24 ordering system. Existing Web24 platforms continue to operate, but new customers should pay attention to the exact product and billing environment used when placing an order.

Linux VPS uses KVM and OnApp virtualization with SSD storage and dedicated virtual-machine resource allocations. Plans combine vCPU, RAM, SSD space, IPv4 connectivity, monthly data transfer and DDoS protection. Entry configurations begin around 1 GB RAM, one vCPU and 15 GB SSD, while larger virtual servers scale to substantially higher CPU, RAM and storage allocations.

Full root access gives experienced Linux users complete control over their server. cPanel/WHM or Plesk can be added when a graphical hosting-management environment is preferred. Managed administration, monitoring and server backups are also available, making it possible to move from a largely self-managed VPS to a much more hands-off hosting configuration.

Some Linux VPS specifications belong to an older generation of the service and still include references to CentOS 7, Ubuntu 16/18, Intel Xeon E5-2630 v2 processors and an expired 2016 promotion. Those details are useful for understanding the historical platform but should not be treated as the definitive specification of a newly deployed server. Current operating-system choices, CPU generation and final pricing should be confirmed during ordering.

Windows VPS follows a similar model with SSD storage, dedicated vCPU and RAM allocations, IPv4 connectivity, data transfer and DDoS protection. These servers are suitable for Windows applications, Remote Desktop workloads, ASP.NET environments and other software requiring Microsoft Windows Server. Plesk can be added for web hosting, while suitable configurations can also support Microsoft SQL Server.

The Windows product information also contains older configuration and promotional references. Resource scaling remains clear, but the exact Windows Server version, virtualization host hardware and license costs should be checked before purchase.

Cloud VPS provides the main general-purpose virtual-server range, while Managed VPS adds a more comprehensive administration layer. VMware VPS remains available for organizations that specifically use VMware technology, including businesses with existing vSphere skills, enterprise virtualization requirements or disaster-recovery workflows.

A separate Mission Critical VPS environment remains part of the infrastructure portfolio. Together with VMware VPS, managed services and dedicated backup options, this gives Web24 a stronger business-infrastructure orientation than providers focused almost entirely on low-cost shared hosting.

Server Management is particularly useful for businesses without an internal system administrator. The service includes 24/7 server monitoring and heartbeat checks, connectivity monitoring, SSH and RDP checks, operating-system updates on request, software installation, Apache or LiteSpeed optimization, MySQL and MariaDB optimization, basic cPanel/WHM configuration, server hardening, vulnerability scanning and ConfigServer Firewall installation on compatible Linux systems.

Management support covers both cPanel/WHM and Plesk environments. Individual incidents generally include up to 30 minutes of troubleshooting within the covered service scope, with additional professional work charged separately when deeper investigation or custom administration is required.

Server Backup provides block-level daily protection through a private storage network in Melbourne. Standard retention is 14 days, and customers can restore individual files and folders or roll back an entire server. An enhanced option adds MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server-aware backup with granular database and table restoration.

Extended retention, more frequent backups, off-site copies and long-term archives can also be added. This makes the backup service more comprehensive than a basic secondary disk attached to the same VPS host, particularly for companies that need database-aware recovery or a longer history of restore points.

Dedicated Servers have historically been an important part of Web24. The range included Dell EMC hardware, Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC processors, SSD and SAS storage, RAID configurations, 1 Gbps networking, DDoS protection, server management and backup options. New dedicated-server orders are now increasingly handled through Digital Pacific, so older Web24 configurations and stock prices should not be assumed to represent currently available hardware.

Domain Registration remains part of the business, with domain services associated with Web Address Registration Pty Ltd. Web24's .AU domain portfolio moved into this structure in August 2025. Registrations, transfers and DNS management remain available, including web-forwarding and Premium DNS functionality.

The domain area contains both newer ordering functions and older pricing information, so the final registration and renewal price displayed during checkout is the most relevant figure. This is particularly important for customers managing many domains where even a small renewal-price difference becomes significant.

SSL Certificates include conventional single-domain, wildcard and higher-assurance certificate options. RapidSSL and GeoTrust products have been part of the range, together with installation assistance. As with several other older sections of the service catalog, certificate availability and current validation options are best confirmed at ordering time.

Web24 operates primarily in English, with product billing in Australian dollars (AUD). The service terms define dollar amounts as Australian currency.

One of the main weaknesses is that the Web24 catalog mixes current infrastructure with older product information. Legacy operating systems, old promotions, inconsistent starting prices, historical dedicated-server inventory and older legal wording remain alongside actively maintained infrastructure and account services. The company remains operational and technically substantial, but customers should confirm the final configuration and price instead of relying on every older specification when choosing a new service.
