The business dates back to April 2002, when Thomas Borgans and Ronny Schick founded Schick&Borgans GbR and began operating hosting systems for customers. Continued growth led to the formation of UD Media GmbH in November 2003, giving the company more than two decades of experience in the German hosting market.

The standard Webhosting 6.0 range consists mainly of Start, Power and Professional packages. Unlimited email addresses and mailboxes, SFTP access, a software installer, several PHP versions, Perl, Python and Ruby support, free Let's Encrypt SSL certificates, DNS administration and DynDNS for IPv4 and IPv6 are also included.

For larger deployments, Managed Servers begin with a recommended configuration of 2 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB storage and 500 GB data transfer. Managed Server backups are included locally, and external backup retention can be extended to as much as 30 days.
