*📜 Plan description

V5 is one of the five base VPS packages, priced from EUR 100.00 per month.
Core resources: 16 vCPU (switchable between shared and dedicated), 16000 MB RAM, and 100000 MB NVMe storage.
Included by default: 1 snapshot, which helps create a safe rollback point before upgrades, configuration changes or application deployments.
This size tier is typically chosen for projects that benefit from root access and predictable resources, such as application hosting, staging environments, CI runners, small databases or a website that has outgrown entry-level hosting.
Operating systems can be selected from free Linux images, with an optional Windows Server license (EUR 23.99/mo) if a Windows environment is required.

TransIP positions this VPS platform as a simple five-package starting point that can be scaled up or down whenever needed.
Every VPS includes unlimited data traffic (terms apply) and storage on distributed NVMe network storage with three replicas for resilience.
Customers can switch between shared and dedicated vCPU for the same package while keeping the IP address; dedicated vCPU uses AMD EPYC, while shared vCPU runs on modern Intel.
Provisioning is designed to be fast: install an OS in minutes via cloud-config or manual setup, keep full root access, and manage core functions from the TransIP Control Panel.
The control panel also covers firewall rules and monitoring of disk speed, CPU usage, network speed and traffic.
The platform is hosted in Dutch datacenters with availability zones such as Amsterdam (AMS0) and Alblasserdam (RTM0); published compliance references include ISO 27001:2022, NEN 7510:2017 and ISO 9001:2015.
Add-ons allow tuning for specific workloads: dedicate vCPU (EUR 10.00/mo), upgrade IOPS and throughput (EUR 5.00/mo), add extra bandwidth up to 2.5 GBps (EUR 2.00/mo), automated backups every 4 hours plus a weekly backup (EUR 5.00/mo), offsite backups in geographically separated locations (EUR 10.00/mo, requires the backup option), and large block storage volumes starting from EUR 12.99 per 2 TB.
Optional software includes Windows Server (EUR 23.99/mo) or free Linux distributions, plus web control panels such as DirectAdmin (EUR 8.50/mo) and cPanel (EUR 31.50/mo); Plesk is offered with a promotional first-month price (terms apply).
For higher availability and traffic management, tools like HA-IP, Load Balancer, Private Network, VPS Firewall, Secure Backup and additional monitoring are available across the ecosystem.

📄 Editorial Review

TransIP is a long-standing Dutch domain and hosting provider based in Leiden, active since 2003 and founded by internet entrepreneur Ali Niknam. Over two decades it has grown into one of the largest registrar–hosting brands in the Benelux and now operates as an anchor brand within the team.blue group, which brings it into a wider European infrastructure ecosystem.

The core catalog for classic website projects revolves around Linux web hosting on fast SSD storage. Plans are structured into three tiers – Core, Pro, and Max – and all of them share the same basic idea: one shared platform with unlimited data traffic, containerized Linux environments for each site, and a central firewall layer. Even the entry Core plan comes with 1 website, 20 GB SSD space, email inboxes, a MySQL database, free SSL, daily backups, SFTP/SSH access, and one-click WordPress installs. Moving up to Pro and Max increases the number of hosted sites (up to 5), storage (up to 250 GB), email accounts, database limits, and Varnish cache allocation, so it scales from simple blogs and small business sites up to busier multi-site setups.

Beyond web hosting, TransIP is very strong on self-managed compute. The VPS line is split into three platforms: BladeVPS for general-purpose workloads, PerformanceVPS for high-end dedicated-vCPU use cases, and SandboxVPS as a low-cost IPv6-only playground for development and testing. BladeVPS offers 1–8 shared vCPUs, up to 64 GB RAM and 1.28 TB SSD; PerformanceVPS pushes that up to 32 dedicated vCPUs, 64 GB RAM and 1.6 TB NVMe network storage. Every VPS includes IPv4/IPv6, a firewall, monitoring and automatic backups, with more frequent backups and snapshots on the higher tiers. SandboxVPS strips away "production" extras like IPv4 and advanced backup options to create a cheap, flexible environment to experiment with.

For projects that need something closer to an elastic cloud, TransIP also offers OpenStack-based Public Cloud. This is aimed at customers who want to build scalable, redundant infrastructures: autoscaling instances billed per hour, separate block storage tiers (HDD/SSD/NVMe), GPU instances, load balancing, secret management and orchestration tools. Data stays in the EU, spread across three physically separate data centers, with triple-replicated storage across racks and high-capacity inter-DC links. Combined with optional networking products like HA-IP load balancers, Private Network and dedicated IP subnets, it covers many of the same use cases as hyperscaler clouds, but on a smaller, more focused European footprint.

On top of hosting and compute, there is a broad supporting layer: domain registration for a wide range of TLDs, DNS hosting, email-only plans for customers who just want professional mail on their own domain, storage add-ons under the "Big Storage" brand, and managed mail-sending services for VPS users. Everything is controlled through TransIP’s own web control panel and API, and the whole platform is available both in Dutch and English (via transip.eu ) through the .nl/.eu/.co.uk domains, making it accessible to local Dutch customers as well as international users comfortable with English.

A noticeable characteristic of TransIP is how much of the stack is self-built and automated. The company emphasizes that all core systems – from the control panel to VPS platform and OpenStack environment – are engineered in-house and designed to be heavily automated. That shows up in features like Git integration for web hosting (AutoGit deployments), quick OS reloads for VPS, infrastructure as code integrations for OpenStack, and a strong API story. This makes the platform particularly attractive to developers, agencies, and technically fluent SMEs who want to script and integrate their infrastructure instead of treating hosting as a black box.
