📄 Editorial Review
SinoHosting is a Greater China web hosting and server provider operating since 2007, with its headquarters in Hong Kong and additional business offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. The hosting operation is managed through Cycom China Limited and belongs to the wider Cycom Hong Kong group, a privately held hosting organization established in 2010 with an estimated 11–50 employees. The company has developed a clear specialization in helping international businesses establish an online presence in Mainland China while still receiving technical and commercial assistance in English. This regional expertise separates SinoHosting from general international hosting providers that may offer Asian server locations but lack practical experience with Chinese regulations, ICP registration and local network conditions.
By June 2020, the company was managing more than 20,000 web and email hosting accounts together with approximately 3,000 VPS and dedicated servers. Although these figures are historical, they indicate that SinoHosting had already built a substantial customer and infrastructure base several years ago.
Its service portfolio includes domain registration, Linux shared hosting, Windows hosting, reseller hosting, FTP storage, corporate email, Microsoft-based email services, email marketing, VPS, dedicated servers, colocation and managed server administration. Web design work is handled through partner referrals rather than through an internal development department.
Mainland China hosting is one of SinoHosting’s most important services. Linux hosting plans include cPanel, PHP, MySQL, email accounts, FTP access, databases, application installation and optional assistance with the Chinese ICP registration process. The entry package includes 5 GB of storage and 25 GB of monthly traffic, while the largest standard plan provides 60 GB of storage, 600 GB of monthly traffic and up to 1,000 email accounts.
Public websites hosted on servers inside Mainland China generally require an ICP filing. SinoHosting assists eligible companies with this process for a one-time fee of RMB800. Applicants normally need a Chinese business license, domain ownership documentation, a local contact and the additional verification documents required by the authorities. Foreign companies without a registered Mainland China business entity usually cannot complete an ICP filing in their own name, making Hong Kong hosting the more practical alternative.
International shared hosting is available in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. These plans use cPanel and include free website migration, application installation, email hosting, databases and proactive monitoring. Hong Kong is especially useful for businesses targeting Chinese visitors while avoiding the regulatory requirements attached to Mainland China hosting.
Windows hosting is available in Hong Kong and Mainland China. Some technical specifications still reference Windows Server 2016, IIS 10, SQL Server 2012 and older MySQL versions. The currently deployed operating system, database version and management panel should therefore be confirmed before placing an order.
Reseller hosting combines WHM, cPanel, private nameservers, Softaculous and weekly backups. Storage allocations range from 50 GB to 250 GB, with packages supporting 50, 100 or unlimited cPanel accounts. Available reseller locations include Hong Kong, Singapore, the United States and the United Kingdom.
FTP hosting is intended for software distribution, business document exchange, remote file storage and backup purposes. Packages start with 10 GB of storage and extend to several hundred gigabytes, with locations in Mainland China, Hong Kong and the United States. An ICP registration is not normally required when the service is used exclusively for file transfers rather than for operating a public website.
The email portfolio is broader than that of many conventional hosting companies. Corporate email starts with one 25 GB mailbox and scales to packages supporting hundreds or unlimited accounts with several terabytes of combined storage. Available features include webmail, POP, SMTP, IMAP, aliases, forwarding, autoresponders, encryption, spam filtering and centralized account administration. Email infrastructure is available in Shanghai, Hong Kong and the United States.
A separate Microsoft-based email package provides a 50 GB mailbox with Exchange, Outlook, calendars, contacts and collaboration features. The package retains the older Office 365 Business Essentials name and contains references to discontinued applications such as Lync Online. Customers should confirm the current Microsoft license, included applications and service limits before ordering.
Self-managed email marketing packages support up to 500, 2,500 or 10,000 subscribers. The service includes campaign templates, mailing-list management, reports and campaign administration. Only opt-in mailing lists are permitted, and each message must include company identification and an unsubscribe option.
Virtual servers are available in Mainland China, Hong Kong and the United States. Mainland China VPS locations include Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. Hong Kong cloud VPS configurations range from one to eight CPU cores, 1 GB to 8 GB of RAM and 40 GB to 320 GB of storage. US VPS packages use SSD storage and include larger monthly data-transfer allowances. VPS services are unmanaged by default, although control-panel licenses and hourly system administration can be purchased separately.
Dedicated servers are available in China, Hong Kong, the United States and Europe. Chinese servers use China Telecom, China Unicom or dual-line connectivity. Hong Kong includes conventional Intel-based systems and a newer AMD EPYC configuration, while the main US location is Seattle. European availability includes Germany and the Netherlands, although some older information also references the Czech Republic. Custom hardware configurations can be arranged when the standard systems are unsuitable.
Several lower-cost Chinese dedicated servers continue to use Xeon L5420, L5520 and L5630 processors, DDR3 memory and mechanical hard drives. These systems can remain practical for lightweight or legacy workloads, but customers requiring modern processors, NVMe storage or dense virtualization should request a current custom configuration.
SinoHosting acquired the customers of HostMacau in July 2018 as part of a consolidation within the Cycom Hong Kong hosting portfolio. The acquisition expanded the company’s Macau shared-hosting presence without forcing transferred customers to migrate away from their existing servers.
The service operates primarily in English, while cPanel supports 14 interface languages and the billing portal includes additional localized options. Product prices are normally available in both Chinese yuan and US dollars.
The website retains a traditional fixed-width hosting layout with compact package tables and limited optimization for modern mobile screens. Some product descriptions, software versions, hardware specifications and currency conversions also require confirmation before purchase. The functional information remains extensive, but the presentation and several technical references reflect an earlier generation of hosting websites.
