📄 Editorial Review

Server24 is an Italian business hosting, cloud and data-center infrastructure provider operating as a division of INCUBATEC GmbH – Srl. The business has roots going back to 2001, when INCUBATEC was founded in South Tyrol by Thomas Moroder. The company was entered in the Bolzano Commercial Register on November 8, 2001. Thomas Moroder serves as President, while Markus Kasslatter and Thomas Moroder form the executive board. The privately held group is controlled by the Kasslatter and Moroder families and has more than 30 employees and partners across Europe.

Server24 is primarily an infrastructure provider rather than a conventional low-cost shared-hosting company. Its portfolio concentrates on Dedicated Servers, Managed Servers, Cloud Infrastructure, Private Cloud, Colocation/Housing and Big Data/HPC infrastructure. The wider INCUBATEC group also operates domain, hosting, email and related Internet services through other brands.

Dedicated Servers range from conventional single-processor systems to multi-processor, high-memory and GPU configurations suitable for demanding business applications. Linux, Windows, BSD and VMware environments are supported. Dedicated infrastructure can be interconnected with cloud instances through private networking, making hybrid architectures possible without separating bare-metal and virtual resources into completely independent environments. OS imaging, cloning and image-based backup capabilities add flexibility when moving or replicating workloads.

The Cloud platform supports private, public and hybrid deployments and uses Apache CloudStack. Infrastructure can be built with local or SAN-based storage, while specialized environments can include SSD storage, InfiniBand networking and GPU acceleration. Standard cloud resources can be provisioned rapidly and are available with hourly or monthly billing.

Managed Hosting is aimed at customers that prefer Server24 to take responsibility for operating-system administration, updates, database maintenance, security, monitoring and backups. Managed environments can combine dedicated servers with cloud resources, allowing more complex infrastructures to remain under a single administration model. Technical management is available around the clock.

The Colocation / Housing service accommodates configurations ranging from individual rack capacity to dedicated suites and complete data-center areas. Power requirements can scale from around 1 kW to multi-megawatt installations, which makes the service suitable for both conventional business deployments and considerably larger infrastructure projects. Colocated systems can also be interconnected with Server24 dedicated and cloud resources.

Server24 has a particularly interesting Big Data and HPC offering. High-performance environments can use RDMA and InfiniBand connectivity of up to 2 × 56 Gbps between servers, together with scalable storage, GPU resources and technologies such as Hadoop and MongoDB. These configurations are suitable for workloads involving machine learning, large-scale data processing and applications where server-to-server bandwidth is especially important.

The broader INCUBATEC organization operates data-center capacity across seven locations worldwide, with business operations in Italy, Germany and Singapore. Server24 itself has a strong European infrastructure orientation, particularly around South Tyrol, Munich and Milan.

The website supports English and German, while services are primarily priced in EUR. One weakness is that some managed-hosting documentation still contains legacy references such as CentOS 6, Windows Server 2003/2008 and Cisco PIX 535. The current infrastructure side is substantially more modern, including ISO 27001:2022 certification, but customers ordering managed services should confirm the current operating systems, firewall platform and management software for the exact configuration being purchased.
