Scicube is a Hong Kong hosting and IT services company established in 2004, initially operating as Scicube Technology Company before Scicube Limited was incorporated in 2007. The company is based in Kwai Chung, New Territories, and has developed a long-standing position in the Hong Kong hosting market, serving individuals, developers, web designers and small to medium-sized businesses. Its infrastructure has grown to more than 200 servers, while the customer base exceeds 6,000 hosting clients.

The product portfolio includes Shared Web Hosting, Email Hosting, WordPress Hosting, VDS, Dedicated Servers, Multi-User/Reseller Hosting, Domain Registration, DNS, SSL Certificates, SiteBuilder and website development services. Free website and email migration is available for new hosting customers, while a trial option is also available for customers wanting to test the service before committing.

The standard Web & Email Hosting packages combine website hosting and business email under the same storage allocation. The entry-level DIY plan provides 100 MB storage, 10 email accounts, support for three domains and unlimited traffic. Medium increases the allocation to 1 GB, includes unlimited email accounts and four MySQL databases. High provides 20 GB storage, support for 10 domains and 10 MySQL databases, while the larger packages increase capacity to 100 GB or 200 GB. Shared hosting uses SSD storage.

Email functionality includes POP3, IMAP, SMTP and webmail together with forwarding, automatic replies, vacation messages and company email monitoring. Hosting accounts also include FTP access, subdomains, traffic statistics, Apache logs, cron jobs, custom error pages, protected directories and backup/restore functions. Shared-hosting data is protected through RAID10, together with daily, weekly and monthly backups.

PHP support extends from older PHP 5.6 installations through modern PHP 8.x releases, including PHP 8.4. phpMyAdmin is available on the database-enabled plans, while MySQL databases can be managed directly from the hosting account.

WordPress can be installed through Installatron, which is included with web-hosting and multi-user accounts. Installatron also supports Joomla, PrestaShop, Zen Cart and numerous other web applications, together with automatic software updates and scheduled application backups. Existing installations can be imported into Installatron after migration, allowing future updates and backups to be managed from the same interface.

A SiteBuilder with close to 200 templates is included with normal hosting accounts. This gives small companies a simpler way to create a basic website without installing WordPress or another CMS. Website design services are also available for businesses that prefer a customized site.

The VDS range uses Virtuozzo virtualization and is oriented toward customers needing more resources and isolation than shared hosting while still benefiting from an already configured server environment. Standard installations use AlmaLinux 9 64-bit with DirectAdmin, together with the required web server, PHP, MySQL and email software. A minimal Linux installation is available for customers who prefer to configure the system themselves, and root access is available.

Three primary VDS configurations are available. The 200 GB package provides 200 GB SSD storage, 2 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, one dedicated IP address and unlimited traffic. The 300 GB configuration increases resources to 4 vCPU and 4 GB RAM, while the 400 GB package includes 8 vCPU and 8 GB RAM. VDS systems use SSD storage and a 1 Gbps network interface. WordPress installations can also be configured with Nginx or OpenLiteSpeed and appropriate caching.

VDS infrastructure includes an automatic failover mechanism capable of relocating virtual servers when a physical host experiences a failure. This reduces dependence on a single virtualization node and provides additional resilience for applications requiring higher availability.

Dedicated Servers are available as managed systems, covering both hardware and software administration. This approach is particularly useful for businesses requiring dedicated resources without maintaining their own Linux administrator. Dedicated configurations can include DirectAdmin and do not require customers to enter a long-term contract.

One dedicated configuration combines a Dell server with Xeon processors, two 2 TB disks configured in hardware RAID1, approximately 2 TB usable storage, 24 GB RAM and a dedicated IP address. Dedicated servers receive RAID1 or better disk redundancy, while disk health is checked automatically every day so failing drives can be replaced promptly.

External backups can be configured for dedicated servers. Rsync-based backups to a compatible external SSH destination can be configured without a setup charge, while an optional external backup service keeps up to two backup generations. DirectAdmin can additionally transfer account backups to an external FTP destination.

The Multi-User Hosting package is designed for developers, web designers and companies managing websites for multiple clients. Individual domains can have separate hosting usernames and access credentials, allowing customers to manage their own accounts while the main administrator retains centralized control. The service uses DirectAdmin.

Domain registration covers popular international extensions together with Hong Kong domains. Customers receive domain-management facilities for DNS, renewals and transfers, including access to authorization or EPP codes when supported. This allows domains to remain under the customer's control rather than being permanently tied to the hosting service.

SSL support includes free Let's Encrypt certificates with automatic renewal for hosting, VDS and dedicated-server customers. Secure POP3, IMAP and SMTP connections are also supported for email. Paid SSL options include standard certificates, wildcard certificates and EV certificates, with installation included for hosting customers.

Website and email migration is available without an additional migration fee for new customers. DirectAdmin and cPanel migrations can be handled using the originating account credentials, while email can also be moved through IMAP. Migration from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments is supported. Standard website migrations are normally completed within one working day, while domain-transfer times depend on the registry and extension.

The main website is primarily available in Traditional Chinese, matching Scicube's Hong Kong customer base. An older English-language section still exists, but it contains outdated packages and pricing and is no longer equivalent to the current Traditional Chinese version. International customers therefore receive a considerably better representation of current services through the Chinese-language site.
