📄 Editorial Review

Ruachost is a Nigeria-based hosting and domain provider that leans heavily into eco-friendly, "planet-minded" infrastructure rather than just chasing low prices. Operated by Ruach Networks Infrastructure Ltd (an accredited .NG registrar), the company has been active since 2019 and is run by a small team split between Lagos and Abuja. The whole offering is framed around reliable performance, transparent pricing, and a strong sustainability angle, with hosting powered by nearly 100% renewable energy and data centres tuned for low power usage.

Instead of being just another local reseller, Ruachost delivers a full stack of services: domain registration, shared web hosting, Business Hosting, Cloud VPS, reseller hosting, Managed WordPress, Business Email, an SMTP/Email Delivery platform, SSL certificates, website security, a website builder, and even free Charity Hosting for qualifying NGOs. Everything is wired through a WHMCS-based client area, so ordering domains, hosting and add-ons feels unified rather than cobbled together.

The core of the platform for small and mid-sized sites is a set of shared hosting plans under the Web Hosting category. There are four main tiers: Horizon, Summit, Aurora, and Eclipse. All of them run on SSD storage with daily backups, unlimited mailboxes, unlimited MariaDB databases, free SSL certificates, and 1-click WordPress installation plus a baseline 2 GB of RAM allocated to each plan. Horizon is aimed at single-site projects, Summit and Aurora step up resources and site limits and include a "Free Domain Forever" perk on at least one domain as long as you keep the plan active, while Eclipse is the "unlimited websites" option for more demanding multi-site or small agency setups.

For heavier workloads, there is a Cloud VPS product line with multiple VM sizes (VM 1 through VM 10). Entry configurations start around 1 GB RAM, 30 GB disk, 1 vCPU and 1 TB bandwidth, scaling in regular steps to multi-core machines with more memory and storage. These VPS instances live in several global locations (including Nigeria, Europe and Asia) and give developers much more control than shared hosting, while keeping pricing within reach of small businesses and startups.

The email side is split into Business Email (per-mailbox hosted email for custom domains) and a separate SMTP / Email Delivery platform designed for transactional and bulk sending. Business Email comes in multiple tiers (Basic, Professional, Premium) at low per-mailbox pricing, suitable for SMEs that want branded addresses without having to manage their own mail servers. The SMTP service adds deliverability-centric features like sender vetting, log analytics through Tracemail, DKIM/DMARC-aware documentation and tooling, and options tailored for resellers who want to bundle outbound email delivery into their own services.

A notable differentiator is Charity Hosting. Nigerian-registered charities can request a free hosting plan with 5 GB storage, support for installing apps, and email mailboxes, giving nonprofits a way to host their sites on properly managed infrastructure without adding to their operating costs. Combined with the company’s environmental stance and partnerships with reforestation and climate initiatives, this gives Ruachost a clear identity: socially conscious hosting rather than just commodity infrastructure.

On top of that, Ruachost supports reseller hosting (promoted as an unlimited, white-label solution for agencies and resellers), Managed WordPress packages for customers who want a more guided WordPress experience, and they advertise dedicated servers and colocation in a Tier-3 data centre in Nigeria on an enquiry basis. They target serious small businesses, developers, agencies, and NGOs—especially in and around Nigeria—while still being usable globally thanks to multiple data-centre regions and a multi-language client area.
