QualityHosting is a long-established German hosting and Microsoft cloud specialist headquartered in Gelnhausen, Hesse, with an additional office in Frankfurt am Main. The business dates back to 1998, when Christian Heit started working independently with a focus on Microsoft-based Internet applications. In 1999, Christian Heit and Markus Oestreicher established the QualityHosting business line, followed by QualityHosting GmbH in 2003. This gives the company more than a quarter-century of experience with business hosting, Microsoft infrastructure and managed cloud services.

Microsoft technology has been central to the company from its early years. .NET hosting was introduced in 2002, housing and dedicated servers followed in 2003, and Hosted Exchange became one of its most important specialties. Over time, the portfolio expanded into Microsoft 365, Azure, cloud security, backup, collaboration, AI services and managed infrastructure. QualityHosting serves more than 12,000 customers worldwide and over 1,000 partners across Europe.

The corporate structure changed significantly during 2025. On October 29, 2025, PSG Equity (psgequity.com) became a strategic investor after approximately 27 years of predominantly organic development. The investment supports further expansion in Microsoft 365, Azure, managed services, cybersecurity, automation and artificial intelligence. On December 12, 2025, QualityHosting AG changed its legal form to QualityHosting GmbH. Christian Heit, Markus Oestreicher and Benedikt Kirsch serve as managing directors.

QualityHosting is much broader than a traditional web host. Its portfolio includes Windows shared hosting, Hosted Exchange, Microsoft 365, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, managed Microsoft security, Microsoft 365 backup, email security, Azure infrastructure, Windows Cloud Servers, Terminal Servers, dedicated servers, private cloud environments, managed servers and reseller services.

WebHosting is based on Microsoft Windows and is therefore particularly suitable for customers using ASP.NET, Microsoft SQL Server or other Windows-oriented technologies. The main packages are NTRY, COM, BIZ and PRO. Storage ranges from 1 GB to 25 GB, while included domains increase from one to five. Traffic and subdomains are unlimited, setup is free and SSL certificates are included.

The Windows hosting environment supports ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, CGI, FastCGI, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server. FTP access, application management, scheduled tasks, log access and an integrated file manager are included. More than 250 applications can be installed through the hosting environment. WordPress users can manage installations using the Plesk WordPress functionality.

WebPaket NTRY includes one domain, 1 GB of storage and three BasicExchange mailboxes. COM increases capacity to two domains and 5 GB of storage, BIZ includes three domains, 10 GB and ten BasicExchange mailboxes, while PRO includes five domains, 25 GB and 15 mailboxes. Higher packages also provide additional FTP users and expanded ASP, ASP.NET and database resources.

Hosted Exchange remains one of QualityHosting's strongest specialties. It provides synchronized email, contacts, calendars, tasks and groupware across desktop computers, browsers, smartphones and tablets. Customers can use QualityHosting's own Hosted Exchange platform or combine their services with Exchange Online.

The Hosted Exchange portfolio is divided mainly between Small Business and Enterprise editions. Small Business is intended for organizations with up to 25 users, supports messages up to 25 MB and mailboxes up to 30 GB. Enterprise removes the stated user limit, supports messages up to 100 MB and mailboxes up to 50 GB.

Enterprise adds more extensive administration, reporting, user and group management, mobile-device security policies, anti-spam, antivirus, backup administration and access-management capabilities. Hosted Exchange can also be extended with email archiving, encryption, centralized signatures and disclaimers, Active Directory synchronization, Unified Messaging, additional mailbox storage, public folders and migration services.

Unified Messaging combines Exchange with additional communication functions such as fax, SMS and voicemail. Professional migration assistance is available for businesses moving from existing Exchange platforms, IMAP mail servers or other messaging systems.

Microsoft 365 and Office 365 are another core part of the business. QualityHosting supplies Business and Enterprise licensing together with migration, tenant administration, technical support and security services. Available products include Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Business Standard, Business Premium, Enterprise E3 and E5, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and related Microsoft cloud services.

Microsoft 365 integrates Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Exchange Online, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams. Higher business and enterprise packages add identity, endpoint-management, security and compliance technologies including Intune, Microsoft Entra, Defender and Purview.

Managed Security 365 is QualityHosting's own management layer for Microsoft cloud security. It standardizes and automates security configuration across identities, devices, operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications. Configuration is continuously checked and incorrect settings can be automatically corrected. The service is included without an additional charge when eligible Microsoft 365 or Office 365 licenses are purchased through QualityHosting.

365 Total Backup adds an independent Microsoft 365 backup layer with multiple automated backups and unlimited storage. Backup copies are kept in German data centers independently from Microsoft's main production environment. This is particularly useful for organizations wanting a separate recovery layer for Microsoft cloud data.

365 Total Protection provides broader email security and compliance functionality. Depending on the edition, this can include spam and malware filtering, anti-phishing protection, sandboxing, encryption, compliant email archiving, security-awareness training, permissions management and backup for Exchange, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.

QualityHosting also supplies Microsoft Teams, including Teams Essentials and telephony-related services. Teams Phone can integrate traditional telephone connectivity with Microsoft's collaboration environment and carries a 99.99% availability SLA.

Artificial intelligence services have become another important part of the portfolio. Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Business can be added to compatible Microsoft 365 environments, while consulting and training help organizations prepare their Microsoft tenant, security model and employees for AI-assisted workflows.

For infrastructure workloads, Microsoft Azure services cover substantially more than conventional VPS hosting. QualityHosting works with Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Migrate, Azure DevOps, Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, Intune, Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Azure Backup and Azure Files. Azure architecture, migration, cost optimization, technical support and training are available as managed services.

QualityHosting's own Windows Cloud Servers use Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization. The platform supports Windows Server 2025, scalable CPU and memory resources, storage expansion, high-availability clusters, monitoring at 15-minute intervals and optional backup, VPN and server-management services.

The Cloud Server Web Edition includes COM V2, BIZ V2, PRO V2 and POWER V2 configurations. The range extends from smaller 2-vCPU systems with 8 GB RAM to larger configurations with 12 vCPUs and 64 GB RAM. Starting storage is 500 GB on current configurations, while listed traffic allowances reach 10 TB. CPU, RAM and storage can be expanded when requirements increase.

Customers receive full Windows administrator access through Remote Desktop. This makes the Cloud Server range appropriate for custom Windows applications, web applications, databases and specialized business software that cannot operate within shared-hosting restrictions.

Terminal Server configurations extend the same cloud infrastructure to centralized Windows desktop and application environments. Companies can provide employees with access to business applications through remote sessions while keeping software and data within centrally managed infrastructure.

Dedicated Servers remain available for organizations requiring physical server resources. Hardware, operating systems and managed-service components can be configured according to the project rather than being limited to standardized low-cost bare-metal packages.

Private Cloud combines Cloud Servers, Terminal Servers, dedicated systems, networking, VPN connectivity, monitoring, backup, server management and individually defined service levels. It is suitable for organizations moving complete business infrastructure into a professionally managed environment.

QualityHosting also has a reseller program for IT companies, MSPs and hosting businesses. Silver and Gold partner models support white-label cloud services covering Microsoft 365, Hosted Exchange, Cloud Servers, security products and associated managed services. Gold partners receive expanded customization, including their own customer-center URL, customized product names, reporting, sub-reseller administration and additional branding options.

The website and normal customer journey are primarily available in German. No complete multi-language/localized storefront exists. Product prices are primarily handled in EUR, reinforcing the company's focus on German-speaking and European business customers.
