📄 Editorial Review
PS Cloud Services, widely known through ps.kz, is one of Kazakhstan’s longest-established hosting, domain-registration, cloud, data-center, and cybersecurity companies. The business was founded in August 2003, when two friends began providing shared hosting from a single server. Nikita Krasulin is the company’s co-founder and chief executive officer. The legal operator is Internet Company PS LLP, headquartered in Almaty. The company has developed from a local shared-hosting provider into a substantial regional infrastructure business with more than 100 technical specialists, 50,000 organizations and entrepreneurs, 80,000 hosted websites, and over 100,000 active registered domains.
Its growth included several important acquisitions in Kazakhstan. DNR.kz was acquired in 2015, followed by ProstoHost, NHost, and CentrHost in 2016. NurHost was integrated in 2017, while Host.kz joined the company in 2018. This consolidation strengthened its position as the country’s largest .KZ registrar and one of Kazakhstan’s most recognizable hosting providers.
PS.kz became the first ICANN-accredited registrar in Central Asia. Customers can register or transfer domains across more than 400 extensions, including Kazakhstan’s .KZ and Cyrillic .ҚАЗ namespaces. Domain services include DNS management, DNSSEC, forwarding, parking, automatic renewal, and pre-ordering of expiring .KZ, .COM.KZ, .ORG.KZ, and .ҚАЗ names.
The service portfolio extends far beyond ordinary website hosting. It includes domain registration, shared hosting, VPS, 1C-Bitrix hosting, website-building software, cloud servers, object storage, managed Kubernetes, cloud databases, load balancers, bare-metal infrastructure, dedicated servers, colocation, rack rental, PaaS, VMware cloud, backups, DevOps, server administration, SSL certificates, DDoS protection, intrusion prevention, SOC monitoring, firewalls, privileged-access management, Microsoft 365, and cloud-based 1C services.
Shared Hosting is suitable for conventional PHP websites, content-management systems, small business websites, email accounts, and online projects that do not require a dedicated server. Accounts include Plesk, FTP access, DNS management, MariaDB/MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, traffic statistics, server logs, spam filtering, ImunifyAV malware scanning, and free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates.
Customers can select PHP versions ranging from 5.6 to 8.3, which makes the service suitable for both legacy applications and newer PHP projects. Shared accounts support multiple domains and subdomains, subject to the storage, processing, and resource limits of the selected package.
PS.kz can migrate up to three websites and ten email accounts without historical messages at no additional cost. A seven-day trial is available before customers commit to a longer subscription.
VPS Hosting provides isolated virtual machines with root access and monthly billing. Available operating systems include AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Debian, and Ubuntu. Ready-to-use environments can be installed for Nginx, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Django, and other common application stacks.
Plesk and ispmanager licenses can be added to a VPS, while experienced administrators can operate the server directly through SSH. Optional backup protection includes two daily and two weekly recovery points.
The specialized 1C-Bitrix Hosting platform uses high-frequency Intel Xeon processors reaching approximately 5 GHz, NVMe storage, and Plesk. It is optimized for online stores, corporate portals, and websites developed with the 1C-Bitrix content-management system. This service includes free migration, a seven-day trial, and a 14-day refund period.
The Website Builder combines hosting, templates, a visual editing interface, domain-based email, and support for small online stores. It can be used for multilingual projects without requiring customers to develop the entire website manually. SSL activation is available for websites created through the platform.
The main cloud environment, PS Cloud, is based on OpenStack and supports hourly or monthly resource consumption. Cloud servers can use Intel or AMD processors together with HDD, SSD, or NVMe storage.
Cloud customers receive IPv6 addressing, console access, VNC, REST API access, and command-line management. Infrastructure can also be automated through Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Go.
Object Storage is compatible with Amazon S3 and OpenStack Swift. Universal, cold, and archive storage classes allow customers to select a cost structure based on how frequently their information must be accessed. Data is replicated between multiple facilities, while billing is calculated from storage usage, requests, and outgoing traffic.
Managed Kubernetes supports automated cluster deployment, scaling, and infrastructure management across availability zones in Almaty, Astana, and Tashkent. PS.kz is a Kubernetes Certified Service Provider, and its engineering team includes specialists holding CKA, RHCA, RHCE, and RHCSA certifications.
The Database as a Service portfolio includes managed MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, and KeyDB environments. Replication, backup, security, and routine database-platform maintenance are handled as part of the managed service.
Cloud load balancers support HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP, and SCTP traffic across Layer 3 and Layer 7. They can distribute traffic to systems hosted within PS Cloud as well as external infrastructure.
Bare Metal as a Service provides direct root-level access to physical hardware with hourly or monthly billing. Conventional dedicated servers are also available through standard configurations or individually assembled systems.
Standard dedicated-server connectivity includes an unmetered 100 Mbps port, operating-system installation, initial configuration, and technical assistance. Customers with larger projects can request customized processors, memory, storage, networking, and administration.
The application-platform range includes Virtuozzo Application Platform, formerly known as Jelastic, for PHP, Java, Node.js, Python, Ruby, Go, Docker, and Kubernetes workloads. A VMware-based public cloud is available through VMware vSphere, NSX, and Cloud Director.
Backup services use Acronis technology, while PAMaaS based on JumpServer controls privileged access to servers, applications, and critical infrastructure.
Cybersecurity is a major part of the company’s business. The standard DDoS service protects against Layer 3 and Layer 4 attacks, while DDoS Protection Pro adds Layer 7 filtering through dedicated traffic-scrubbing infrastructure.
The advanced service can filter encrypted traffic without requiring customers to transfer their private SSL keys. A two-week testing period is available for this protection platform.
Additional security services include FortiGate-based intrusion prevention, physical and virtual FortiGate firewall rental, privileged-access control, infrastructure preparation for Kazakhstan information-security assessments, and continuous threat monitoring through a Security Operations Center.
The Unified Internet Access Gateway is primarily intended for government and quasi-government organizations subject to Kazakhstan’s regulated network-security requirements.
PS.kz expanded into Uzbekistan in 2024, adding regional infrastructure outside Kazakhstan. This gives businesses another Central Asian deployment location without requiring them to move workloads to Western Europe or North America.
The company website uses a modern, full-width layout suitable for current desktop and mobile devices. Russian and English versions are available, although portions of the English version still contain Russian interface elements or untranslated content.
The PS Cloud management console offers more complete localization in Russian, English, Kazakh, and Uzbek. Services are primarily billed in Kazakhstani tenge.
