Provider.lk is a Sri Lankan web hosting, cloud infrastructure and domain-registration company operating since 2009. The service originally developed under the WebbyCity name and later used the LKWebHosting brand before becoming Provider.lk. It now operates as part of WebbyCity Private Limited, a Sri Lankan technology company created by a group of technical professionals focused on affordable and highly automated hosting services.

The company has grown to more than 7,000 customers and 10,000 hosted websites, with services distributed across six data center locations. It is an authorized agent of the LK Domain Registry and an accredited cPanel partner. Provider.lk also received the LK Domain Customer Retention Excellence Award 2025, presented in February 2026.

Its portfolio covers Linux shared hosting, Linux cloud hosting, Windows hosting, managed WordPress hosting, application hosting, managed databases, business email, radio streaming, reseller hosting, cloud VPS, dedicated servers, domain registration, SSL certificates and an AI website builder. The conventional Linux shared hosting packages provide the most affordable entry point. Depending on the selected plan, customers receive cPanel or DirectAdmin, NVMe storage protected by RAID 10, free SSL certificates, email accounts, MySQL databases, selectable PHP versions, one-click application installation and migration assistance.

The entry-level daStarter package includes 1 GB of storage, 100 GB of monthly traffic and support for two websites. Larger cPanel packages increase the storage allowance and number of hosted websites, while the cpMax package supports five websites with unmetered storage and traffic.

Windows hosting is deployed on Singapore-based cloud infrastructure and managed through Plesk. It supports ASP, ASP.NET, .NET Core, MSSQL, MySQL, IIS, email hosting and free AutoSSL certificates. Triple-replicated NVMe storage, DDoS mitigation and a web application firewall provide additional protection.

These packages are practical for Sri Lankan developers and businesses running Microsoft applications but not requiring the administrative responsibility of a complete Windows virtual server.

The managed WordPress hosting range combines Plesk WordPress Toolkit, LiteSpeed Enterprise, LSCache, object caching, staging tools, cloning, security hardening, vulnerability checks and automatic SSL certificates. Packages support between one and five WordPress websites with unmetered storage and traffic.

These plans are better suited to WordPress and WooCommerce projects than the least expensive general hosting accounts, particularly when staging, caching and managed security functions are important.

Application hosting supports PHP, Node.js, Python and Ruby on Rails. It also includes SSH access, databases, LiteSpeed and one-click application deployment. This service fits developers who need several programming environments but do not want to maintain an entire VPS.

Managed database hosting provides remotely accessible MySQL and MariaDB databases on dedicated database servers in Singapore. Customers can restrict access by IP address and manage databases through phpMyAdmin. NVMe storage, unmetered traffic and daily backups or snapshots are included.

Database capacity is sold in 10 GB blocks, making the service useful for applications hosted on another platform that still require a separately administered database environment.

The cloud VPS platform runs on Singapore-based eCloud infrastructure. Optimized connectivity toward Sri Lankan internet providers reduces latency, with approximately 37 milliseconds possible on suitable routes.

VPS customers receive full root access, a cloud-management interface, VNC console access, operating-system reinstallation, monitoring and scalable processor, memory and storage allocations. Supported operating systems include Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS-family distributions. Server administration is available as an additional paid service.

The dedicated server range is also based in Singapore and includes configurations using Intel Xeon processors, SSD or hard-drive storage, dedicated network ports, root access and remote-management facilities. Several Linux operating systems are available.

Dedicated servers are primarily self-managed. Customers requiring operating-system maintenance, security administration, monitoring or application assistance should include management services in the total cost.

Domain registration covers more than 1,000 extensions, including .LK, .COM and many generic and country-code domains. Provider.lk is particularly useful for .LK registrations because it is an authorized registry agent and can assist customers with local identity and organization-verification requirements.

Customers retain ownership of their domains and can manage nameservers through the client area. A .LK registration also includes a complimentary 1 GB DirectAdmin hosting account in Singapore for as long as the domain remains active.

The complimentary package supports two websites, 100 GB of monthly traffic, email accounts and MySQL databases. New .LK registrations can also qualify for a first-term shared-hosting discount. DNS records can be managed through Cloudflare.

Commercial SSL certificates are issued by Sectigo and include domain-validation, business-validation and extended-validation options. Shared and managed-hosting customers generally do not require a separate commercial certificate because automatically renewed SSL certificates are already included.

The AI Website Builder provides a chat-assisted setup process, visual editing, AI-generated text and code, contact forms, appointment booking, brand-management functions, business email and free SSL. It supports unlimited pages and visitors and offers a straightforward alternative for smaller businesses that do not want to manage WordPress.

The main website is available in English, while support can be provided in English, Sinhala and Singlish. The client area supports a considerably wider selection of languages, including Arabic, Azerbaijani, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Persian, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Macedonian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Sinhala, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Ukrainian.
