The business is led by founder and CEO Safras Sammoon, while its corporate profile also identifies Jessica Johnson as Chief Financial Officer and Frank McNair as Chief Operating Officer. PromoHost Web Solutions (Pvt) Ltd is headquartered in Bogahakumbura, Sri Lanka, and operates with a small team.

The company focuses on affordable services for individuals, bloggers, developers, small businesses, web designers and entrepreneurs interested in starting their own hosting business. Its portfolio includes Linux shared hosting, reseller hosting, master reseller hosting, Linux and Windows VPS, dedicated servers, domain registration, domain transfers, business email, SSL certificates, website building, website design, website backup, website security, VPN subscriptions and server-software licenses.

Shared Hosting runs on SSD or NVMe storage with LiteSpeed Web Server, cPanel, free SSL certificates and automatic application installation. The Basic package includes 1 GB of storage, 5 GB of monthly bandwidth, two email accounts and two databases. ProPlus supports two additional domains and provides higher resource limits, while Premium allows unlimited websites, storage, bandwidth, email accounts, databases, subdomains and FTP accounts under fair-use conditions.

The shared plans include physical-memory limits between 1 GB and 3 GB, I/O allowances between 1 MB/s and 3 MB/s, and inode limits of up to 250,000. Accounts creating excessive processor, memory or disk load may be suspended, so the unlimited packages remain subject to the normal technical restrictions of a shared server.

A separate promotional NVMe hosting package includes 10 GB of storage, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited domains, email accounts, databases, SEO tools, a website builder and one-click application installation. Its software stack includes LiteSpeed, CloudLinux, JetBackup, Imunify360 and Let’s Encrypt SSL.

Reseller Hosting is one of the stronger parts of the PromoHosts catalog. The R1 through R4 packages support 50, 100, 150 or 225 cPanel accounts and include WHM, SSD storage, unlimited bandwidth, custom branding, nameservers, Softaculous and SSL certificates. The entry-level reseller package uses shared nameservers, while the larger packages include private nameservers.

Unlimited reseller services remain governed by account and bandwidth restrictions. The terms limit unlimited reseller packages to 50 GB of bandwidth or 160 accounts in total, including accounts created through subordinate resellers. These restrictions do not fully match some of the larger account allowances displayed during ordering, making written confirmation advisable before building a high-volume reseller business.

Master Reseller Hosting allows customers to create standard cPanel accounts and subordinate WHM reseller accounts. The regular package includes 250 cPanel accounts, 20 WHM accounts, 150 GB of SSD storage and overselling. Master Reseller XL includes unlimited cPanel accounts, WHM accounts and storage, subject to fair-use and server-resource limits.

VPS Hosting is divided into SSD-boosted HDD servers and Pure SSD servers. Linux and Windows operating systems are supported, together with root access through SSH or VNC, one dedicated IP address, DDoS protection and unmetered traffic. The HDD range begins with 4 GB of RAM and 300 GB of storage, while the Pure SSD range begins with 8 GB of RAM and 200 GB of storage. Larger configurations reach 60 GB of RAM, 1.6 TB of storage and network ports of up to 1 Gbit/s.

The VPS packages provide generous storage for their price, although several plan names and detailed specifications are inconsistent. Some packages named after 700 GB or 1.4 TB storage allocations still show 300 GB in their technical details. The main VPS landing page also encountered an ionCube PHP Loader error, while individual VPS products remained accessible through the ordering system. The exact storage, virtualization platform, processor allocation and network speed should therefore be confirmed before payment.

Dedicated Servers include Intel Core i7, Xeon E3 and AMD Ryzen configurations with 32 GB of RAM, HDD, SATA SSD or NVMe storage and 100 Mbit/s network ports. Linux, Windows and BSD operating systems are supported, with both managed and unmanaged administration options.

Preconfigured dedicated servers can be activated immediately when in stock, while other systems may require approximately 12 to 24 hours. Additional backup drives can be ordered, but server backups are not included automatically. Several listed processors belong to older hardware generations, so customers should confirm the exact processor model, storage condition, RAID configuration, bandwidth allowance, network port and management scope before ordering.

Domain Registration covers generic, country-code and specialist domain extensions, including internationalized domain names. Registration, transfer and renewal charges are displayed separately, with domain purchases billed in US dollars.

Business Email is offered with either 5 GB or 25 GB of mailbox storage. Both packages include webmail, mobile access, virus protection, calendars, contacts and technical support. The larger Enterprise Email package adds more storage and collaboration features for Outlook and macOS users.

Additional services include domain-validated, organization-validated, extended-validation and wildcard SSL certificates, a Weebly website builder, CodeGuard automated backups, SiteLock malware protection, VPN subscriptions for up to five devices and custom website design, development and maintenance.

PromoHosts also sells licenses for cPanel, DirectAdmin, Plesk, CloudLinux, LiteSpeed, WHMCS, JetBackup, Imunify360, Softaculous, SitePad, Virtualizor and other server-management products. These discounted licenses are restricted to VPS and dedicated servers hosted through PromoHosts. License validity, supported account limits and renewal conditions should be confirmed before relying on them for a production server.

The website is available in English only, with no multi-language or localized version. Most hosting services, servers and domains are priced in US dollars, while parts of the software-license section also use Sri Lankan rupees.

The website uses an older WHMCS-style layout with duplicated headings, grammatical errors, inconsistent technical specifications and several outdated content elements. It remains usable, but navigation and product comparison are less polished than on modern hosting platforms.
