PixelX is a long-established German web hosting and infrastructure provider operating as Pixel X e.K. from Braunschweig. The company has been active in professional hosting since 1999, giving it more than 25 years of industry experience. Michael Rottmann is the registered owner, and the business remains an independently operated German provider rather than part of a large international hosting group.

Its current portfolio covers Cloud Web Hosting, WordPress Hosting, Nextcloud Hosting, Reseller Hosting, configurable Cloud Servers, domain registration, SSL certificates, server housing and rack colocation. This gives PixelX a wider technical range than a conventional shared-hosting company, with services suitable for individual websites, agencies, businesses, resellers and customers operating their own server hardware.

Cloud Web Hosting is the main general-purpose hosting range and runs on infrastructure located in Germany. Plans provide between 50 GB and 500 GB SSD storage and include one to four .de domains depending on the package. Features include unlimited traffic, email hosting, MariaDB databases, IPv6, DNS management, Git support, free SSL certificates and daily backups retained for seven days. PHP versions from 8.2 through 8.5 are available, while PHP memory limits scale from 128 MB to 1 GB according to the selected package.

Email resources are generous even on smaller plans. The entry package supports 100 mailboxes, while larger configurations increase this significantly. DKIM, DMARC, spam protection, antivirus filtering and webmail are included, making the hosting suitable for customers that prefer to keep websites and business email within the same service.

WordPress Hosting builds on the same German hosting infrastructure with WordPress-specific management features. Packages range from 25 GB to 500 GB of SSD storage and support between one and 50 WordPress installations. The Plesk WordPress Toolkit provides one-click installation, staging, cloning, synchronization, security checks and automated update management. Unlimited traffic, free SSL certificates, selectable PHP versions and daily backups retained for seven days are included.

Nextcloud Hosting provides managed online file storage and collaboration without requiring customers to operate their own Nextcloud server. Storage ranges from 5 GB to 200 GB, with unlimited users, SSL encryption, server-side encryption, unlimited traffic, desktop and mobile client support, user and group administration and separate daily backups. Larger packages provide considerably more resources and connection speeds reaching up to 1 Gbps.

The Reseller Hosting platform is designed for agencies, web developers and hosting companies that want to manage customers under their own brand. It combines Plesk hosting management with AutoDNS functionality for domains, DNS records and contact administration. WHMCS integration and API access provide additional automation possibilities. Packages support 25, 50 or 100 customer accounts with between 250 GB and 1 TB SSD storage, unlimited databases, unlimited traffic and daily backups. A 30-day free reseller test account is also available.

Cloud Servers use a configurable resource model rather than forcing customers into a small set of predefined VPS packages. CPU, RAM and SSD resources can be selected individually, with Intel Xeon Gold processors, SSD storage and a 1 Gbps traffic-flat network connection. Linux operating systems are supported, while Plesk Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host licenses can be added according to the number of domains and required hosting functions.

Managed administration is available for customers that do not want to maintain the operating system and hosting control panel themselves. Managed Plesk Cloud Server service includes operating-system and Plesk administration, updates, monitoring of important system services, 24/7 email assistance and telephone support during normal business hours.

PixelX also has an extensive domain registration business with more than 800 conventional generic domains, country-code extensions and newer domain extensions available. Popular choices such as .de, .com, .eu, .net and .org sit alongside a large selection of international and specialized extensions.

The SSL certificate range includes domain-validated, organization-validated, extended-validation and wildcard certificates. Free SSL certificates cover the requirements of ordinary hosting accounts, while paid commercial certificates remain available for customers requiring corporate validation or particular certificate types.

PixelX extends beyond virtual hosting into physical infrastructure. Server Housing packages are available for 1U, 2U and 4U systems, while Colocation options range from 10U and 20U allocations to complete 42U racks. This creates a practical upgrade path from shared hosting and cloud servers to customer-owned physical equipment without changing infrastructure provider.

The company primarily operates in German, and a complete localized English storefront does not exist. Technical information may occasionally be available in English, but German remains the main language for sales, legal information and customer communication.
