Online Solutions Oy is a Finnish hosting, software development and information-security company established in 1994. Headquartered in Jyväskylä, with an additional sales office in Vantaa, the company is privately owned by people actively involved in the business. The service model is aimed primarily at companies, associations and public-sector organizations that need individually configured systems rather than standardized low-cost hosting packages. Its portfolio includes managed web hosting, email hosting, DNS services, server housing, colocation, cloud services, website development, secure email, business software, firewalls, VPN connectivity and authentication systems.

Managed web hosting runs on customized server platforms designed around controlled maintenance, security and fault tolerance. The servers use largely standardized base configurations, allowing workloads to be transferred between physical systems when hardware is replaced, maintenance is required or additional capacity becomes necessary.

Website files and databases are backed up daily, with restoration points retained for at least two weeks. Server activity and resource consumption are monitored continuously. Email services form an important part of the portfolio. Traditional hosted email is complemented by SecMail, a Finnish email-security platform covering spam filtering, malware protection, marketing-message filtering, TLS encryption, mail-server isolation and secure message delivery. SecMail can protect mail systems hosted by Online Solutions or systems operated elsewhere.

Incoming and outgoing email traffic can be routed through SecMail, reducing the exposure of the customer’s primary mail server to the internet. Administrators can adjust filtering policies, inspect quarantined messages, release incorrectly blocked email and review traffic statistics through a dedicated management interface.

SecMail Secure Email keeps confidential messages inside a protected Finnish environment instead of sending the complete content through ordinary email infrastructure. Recipients authenticate through an encrypted connection, read the message inside the secure service and can reply without exposing the conversation to standard email delivery. Delivery and opening notifications are supported, while stored messages are deleted automatically after the configured retention period.

Both the email-security and secure-email services include a 14-day free trial.

Online Solutions also develops proprietary business applications. OnlineBusiness combines customer management, invoicing, accounts receivable, recurring billing, inventory control, reporting, project management and online-store integrations. It can operate as a hosted service or from infrastructure controlled by the customer.

OnlineOffice includes shared mail folders, calendars, contacts, task management, document storage, SMS functionality, fax tools and internal announcements. Customized development work includes corporate websites, intranets, extranets, booking platforms, online stores, payment integrations and resource-management systems.

The information-security portfolio includes SecWall, a modular firewall and VPN platform; SecAuth, an authentication gateway using temporary passwords or SMS verification; and SecMod, a Linux security extension that restricts the actions individual applications can perform inside the operating system. SSL certificate services are also offered through the customer environment.

The website supports Finnish and English, although the Finnish version contains a broader range of technical and product information. Its design and navigation retain an older structure, with fixed-width layouts and historical content still accessible alongside current services. An old Exchange 2007 package remains indexed but should not be considered part of the present service range.
