NL Hosting is a Dutch web hosting and domain provider based in Groningen, with a history going back to 1994. This long operating history places it among the more established hosting brands in the Netherlands. Its services are aimed mainly at individuals, freelancers, small businesses and organizations that want straightforward hosting, e-mail and cloud services with their data kept in the Netherlands.

The business operates legally as NL Hosting B.V.. In 2017, NL Hosting was acquired by CJ2 Hosting and became part of CJ2 Holding B.V. The two companies now cover different parts of the hosting market. NL Hosting concentrates mainly on web hosting, domains, e-mail, SSL, Microsoft 365 and Nextcloud, while CJ2 handles services such as managed VPS, dedicated servers, rackspace, private cloud and more complex infrastructure.

The company has a relatively compact team of 2–10 employees, while the wider CJ2 organization provides the infrastructure and technical resources behind many of its services. The nlhosting.nl domain has also been in use since 1998, giving the brand a long and recognizable presence in the Dutch hosting market.

Shared Web Hosting is available in Small, Medium and Large packages. Small includes 2 GB storage and 10 GB monthly traffic, Medium provides 10 GB storage with unlimited traffic, and Large increases storage to 50 GB with unlimited traffic. The packages support unlimited subdomains, databases and e-mail addresses within the available account resources. WordPress Toolkit, Let's Encrypt SSL and telephone support are included.

WordPress customers receive convenient management through Plesk and its WordPress Toolkit. WordPress can be installed and maintained from the control panel, while staging functionality makes it possible to create a test copy of a website before applying changes to the live installation.

A free migration service is available for customers moving from another provider. NL Hosting can transfer websites, mailboxes and domains and coordinate the migration to limit service interruption. This is particularly practical for businesses that want to change hosting providers without manually rebuilding mail accounts, transferring website files or coordinating DNS changes.

Domain Registration covers more than 250 domain extensions. Domains can be registered independently from a hosting package, while the customer panel handles renewals, cancellations and transfers. Domain-only customers can also use forwarding for websites and e-mail.

The standalone E-mail Hosting range follows the same Small, Medium and Large structure. The packages provide 4 GB, 20 GB or 60 GB of total mail storage and allow unlimited e-mail addresses and aliases within the allocated storage. DKIM, DMARC and SPF are supported, and mail can be accessed through webmail or standard POP and IMAP clients.

Customers needing stronger filtering can add SpamExperts Premium Spamfilter. It provides additional protection against spam and phishing, together with configurable allowlists and blocklists.

Microsoft 365 is available through Exchange Online and Business Standard subscriptions. Exchange Online includes a 50 GB mailbox, while Business Standard also includes the desktop Microsoft Office applications. A useful addition is the daily Microsoft 365 mailbox backup service. Up to 50 GB of backup storage per mailbox is available, with backup data stored on separate systems in Dutch data centers. SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 application data require a separate backup solution.

NL Hosting also offers Nextcloud as a privacy-oriented cloud collaboration platform. The company became a Nextcloud Gold Partner in 2026 and provides Files, Office Personal and Office Business packages. Each starts with 100 GB of storage and one user, with extra users and additional terabytes available as extensions. Nextcloud Office and Nextcloud Talk are included, allowing customers to combine file synchronization, document collaboration and communication while keeping their data in the Netherlands.

SSL options include free Let's Encrypt certificates for hosting accounts and a managed Zorgeloos SSL service for customers who prefer NL Hosting to handle installation, validation and renewal monitoring. Commercial Sectigo certificates are also available, including PositiveSSL, EV and wildcard options.

NL Hosting operates primarily in Dutch, and no English storefront exists. Services are priced in EUR, with customer-facing prices including 21% Dutch VAT. The website, ordering environment and customer panel were substantially modernized in 2023, resulting in a current self-service environment rather than the older fixed-width interfaces still used by some long-established hosting companies.
