Netwise is a UK data center and infrastructure company founded in 2009 by Matthew Butt and Matt Seaton. Its roots go back to 2005, when the founders started working with game-server hosting and a small collection of IBM servers. Commercial premises followed in 2007, and Netwise Hosting Limited was formally established two years later.

The company has since developed into a specialist London colocation, connectivity, dedicated infrastructure, and managed-hosting provider. Its services are aimed primarily at organizations that need physical server infrastructure, resilient power, carrier-diverse networking, remote engineering assistance, and custom deployments rather than conventional mass-market shared hosting.

Server Colocation is the central service. Customers can colocate individual 1U, 2U, or 4U systems and can scale into 10U quarter racks, 20U half racks, 42U full racks, multi-rack deployments, private pods, or private data halls. Options include A+B power, high-speed network ports, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, blended transit, BGP, cross-connects, inter-data-center connectivity, and Layer 1 or Layer 2 network services.

Dedicated Servers are built around individual requirements rather than a large catalog of standardized configurations. Enterprise hardware can be assembled for specific workloads and installed directly inside the Netwise infrastructure. Power allocation, connectivity, software licensing, and hosting control panels can be adjusted according to the project. This approach is better suited to businesses needing custom infrastructure than customers looking for an inexpensive instant-provisioned server.

Netwise also provides specialist managed environments for IUCLID 6 and Chesar, software commonly used for chemical substance information, regulatory compliance, chemical safety assessments, REACH processes, and related scientific workflows. These systems operate on enterprise virtual-server infrastructure in the UK and can include automated off-site backups, migrations, updates, and remote browser access.

A Disaster Recovery Suite combines data center services with emergency workplace facilities. Businesses can reserve desk positions, reproduce working environments, integrate telephone services using VoIP, and perform periodic continuity tests. During a declared incident, the facility can be made available around the clock.

Networking is another major part of the operation. Netwise operates AS60800 / AS-NETWISE and maintains its own dark-fiber infrastructure between key London locations. The network supports IPv4 and IPv6 and includes IP transit, protected pseudowires, optical wavelengths, leased lines, point-to-point circuits, BGP, DDoS mitigation, peering, and cloud connectivity.

Carrier connectivity includes Cogent (AS174), Arelion (AS1299), and Zayo (AS19092), with 100G connectivity available across major portions of the network. Nexusguard (nexusguard.com) is used for DDoS mitigation. Peering and exchange connectivity includes LINX, LONAP, and NetIX, while cloud-oriented connectivity extends toward AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.
