names.co.uk is one of the United Kingdom’s longest-established domain registration and web hosting companies. Founded in 1997 by Richard and Rachel Suthering, the business originally operated as Namesco before adopting the names.co.uk identity in December 2012. It now trades through Team Blue Internet Services UK Limited from Worcester, England.

The company developed through a series of acquisitions that included NamesWeb, Simply.com, Net2, NDO, Register365 and PoundHost. Register.it acquired Namesco in July 2007 for approximately £24.5 million, and the wider operation later became part of team.blue in 2019. Domain registration remains a central part of the business. Customers can register, transfer and renew a large selection of generic and country-code extensions, including British domains such as .co.uk and .uk. Related services include domain recovery, domain monitoring, proxy registration, brand protection, managed DNS and centralized administration of nameservers and DNS records.

The shared web hosting range is divided into Beginner, Enthusiast, Pro and Pro-XL plans. These packages use SSD or NVMe storage, include unrestricted bandwidth under the acceptable-use policy, and provide daily backups, malware protection and an internally developed hosting control panel. Depending on the package, customers also receive domain registration, SSL certificates, SSH access, scheduled tasks, hourly backup options, application patching, server-side caching and AI-assisted website creation.

Beginner is suitable for one small website. Enthusiast supports up to five websites and provides more processing power, memory and administrative tools. Namesco, once known for offering both Linux and Windows-based hosting, has phased out support for Windows shared hosting in its current lineup—a notable shift from previous years.
